Where do you go when you write?

I've done most of my writing in the bathroom. Yes. My family's big so there's always people in the room, or using the computer. I also write pretty late at night, around midnight to two, maybe. There's no one around at that time to bother me.

Sometimes when I'm in a church service that's really intense, ideas come to me...it doesn't make sense, but at a time when most people are lost in worship, I'm scribbling away. You can call that rude or rebellious, but it seems to be God helping out.

It depends. If the story is spontaneous, then I would rather do it on the computer; I've written very short, comical stories that way.

I'm not averse to writing on paper, but it usually doesn't matter to me. If I want to feel more connected to my characters and if I am getting into the story, then I would plan it all out in my head and write it down on paper.

Generally, right here at the computer. I have a classical net station I like to listen to, and I'll put headphones on to block out the noise from the rest of the dorm. The other place I'll work is at the "fireside" room in our college library. Big soft comfy chair, if I can get to it first, with a pad of paper and an array of many-colored pens to help me. Usually just research and outlines go on paper, though sometimes a vignette or two if some scene happens to strike me vividly while I'm away from home.

Usually I'm either at the computer, or at my desk in my bedroom.

Writing comes to me not where I seek it physically, but mentally, and emotionally.
It can be anywhere. Often I am by my PC, often I am on a walk out and about. One place I like is by an old battered silver birch about an hour's walk from here. It's in a clearing in the woods so I'm prettyu much alone with my thoughts and nature as it were. Silence and all good sounds. Like birds calling, and not a single sound of civilization. Love it!

The majority of the time, I write at my computer station/work area. I need to have access to the helps materials...such as my bible...commentaries, devoitons and the like, because I write mostly ministerial things. However, even sitting at the computer, I get writers block...and have learned, the hard way, to keep paper and pen with me at all times. Last week, my husband and I were at Sam's Club having a hotdog and I had been having trouble with a newsletter I am working on...so we took a break...and as we sat there, just looking around, munching on a hotdog with mustard, relish and onioins....hmmmmm......the ole' block unclogged and ideas came, and I was without paper....so I took my address book out of my purse and began to write...
Also, when I am working on something...the best place I have found, where it seems to "flow" is while soaking in the bathtub!!!

I usually type when I am writing, which means I am sitting in my 7" by 5" room typing away at 40 to 50 words per minute. If I have lost interest in the subject though, I find it impossible to make any progress.

When I need to get away to write, I often take a notebook down to the river and sit for a while. But I actually do a lot of writing in my head. While I'm doing housework, getting my boys ready or taking them to school, I will be composing short stories in my mind.

I like to write anywhere that I'm comfortable and at ease. So when I'm at home i like to be in my room and imagine myself being in the place that i'm writing about; it gives me a better feel of the scents and sounds of the place and comes out in my writing more vividly. But if i'm not at home, I definitely love writing by the beach. =)

I'm just curious where people go when they write!!

I like to site in my backyard, under a tree with a pen and paper!! That way I can't just backspace over my mistakes! Sometimes the best stuff comes from my mistakes!

Sometimes, I go to the park... but typically I turn on Media Player and type it out on my laptop while I relax in my living room.

I write anywhere I have the time to. All you have to do if you are ever troubled when you write is accept all that troubles you and push it to another region out of your mind. It works for me.
