I notice that with people my own age, I feel old, I share little in common with them. One of my best friends is a 19 y.o., I still like the music my daughter listens to, we share the cost of CD's to share. :) Anyhow, in a nutshell, I love the music, movies and such of the younger generation, but of course the maturity level isn't the same, but I don't wanna hang out with ppl who've forgotten how to have fun and laugh and feel alive. Hmm.....where to go, lol. Anybody else experiencing this? Thx and God bless.

Oh yah, I feel like that all the time! I love the women in our church who are my age, but I don't have alot in common with them. I dress differently, I listen to different music, etc.. But I am in youth ministry, so that is no big surprise:cool: I find most women my age dress older and act older and even talk older. Yuk:sick: I don't want to look like a frump and I don't want to be older than I am.......

Where to go?
.....My answer - Youth Ministry:clap:

I haven't "forgotten how to have fun, laugh or feel alive"...thank you very much. :D It's not age necessarily that makes people "old". ;)

I have found that I don't really fit in with any specific age group. I love different things about each group. I'm a musician, so my taste in music is extremely varied. I love to read, and I wish I had a pet, but I'm not home enough. I guess to sum it up, I don't feel my age - I feel YOUNGER!!

I fit in just about anywhere, I guess. I've worked with the children's ministry for many years, and that's always fun! As my kids were growing up, I made it a point to know all of their friends, invite them over, and let them get to know me. I'm honored when I hear when my kids say ( who are now in their late teens ) that they and their friends think I'm a "pretty cool" person.

As far as women .. I get along with all ages. I've led a ladies Bible study and prayer group, :groupray: and now I direct a women's praise team, ranging from ages 60 on down to 19 .. and let me tell you, they're a GREAT bunch of women.

I'm pretty much an extrovert anyway. So maybe the question for me would be, 'where DON'T I fit in?' .. Umm, er .. the mens's fellowship :D ;)

I'm 42 (for 2 more weeks). And the difference between me at 42 and me at 22 is that I don't buy into anyone elses stereotypical attitude of how I should be. My years have helped me see, that You can't please the public eye anyway. Maybe that's being a grown up. Transcending the thin layers of superficiality.

If people would stop buying into societies attitude that they should be ashamed of their age. That they should only be XYZ. Then maybe society would get a more accurate picture of what being our age actually is.

I look back on how far I've come. And I look forward to where I'm going. And I don't view time as my enemy. I'm excited about the journey I've been on. And, I'm eager to find out where my life is going next.

Be happy with who you are. Bat away the gnats of societal attitude. It's a distraction designed to blind you from what is really important in life.

Without the gradual deterioration of a human being...why would we ever accept that we were going to die? Everything ages and decays on Earth. It's how God designed it. The desire for the incorruptability of Heaven would mean nothing if Earth, and all it's inhabitants didn't age.
