Where do pastors get this from?

I heard and been taught many times that Satan was like the choir director of the angles of G-d. He had a beautiful voice and basically created music. This fact or translation (if it is even true) is used as an argument that secular music is of the Devil. He is the father of lies, a great deceiver. So we can easily fall in his trap if were not careful? Careful of what, poor music chooses of today's population? Ok I agree with that. However, where do they get that Satan was the choir director of G-D's angels? Please list your source.

Ezekiel 28:13 of the KJV and NKJV seems to hint that Satan was involved with music in Heaven. The NKJV says, “The workmanship of your timbrels and pipes was prepared for you on the day you were created,” although the exact meaning of this difficult Hebrew text is uncertain. There may have been such instruments in heaven, but there is no evidence outside this verse to verify it. Revelation 5:8 and 15:2 refer to harps, but not to timbrels or pipes.

I believe God created music. Not all secular music is of the devil. For instance, a pop song from Taylor Swift is unlikely to be promoting evil. Some songs, do seem innocent though & really aren't. Like Ke$ha's recent video for "Die Young" has blatant pagan imagery.

While I cannot answer the question of "where", and I can answer "why". Because people so often have the idea that God is a cookie cutter. What works for one person must work for everyone.

Hmm. Maybe you should check the original Hebrew/Aramean/Greek texts (I don't trust Latin texts very much, they were translated in a hurry). All Bibles are based on those texts iirc.
