  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I guess from when I was little would be a good place.
I have always been raised to belive in God and I always have. My Mom told me of one of my first blessings from God. We were living in Nashville, Tennessee and my dad was a lineman for Western Union. There were 6 kids at this time. I was 3 years old and became very sick, my Mom took me to the doctor and they gave her something for my fever and she came home. Well the fever did not get any better, it got worse, she and my Dad decided to take me to the hospital, on the way my Mom said my head was laying on her arm and it was burning her arm. They got me to the hospital and my fever was 106 , they packed me in ice. My mom was praying of course, then she said I was laying in the hospital and I said to her..... Momma, can you see the pretty angles, well you know her praying went into overdrive at that moment. The doctors came in and said I had a sever case of encephalitis , well things did not look very good but as we know God is great and the fever broke and I made it thru. Now, the years went on and my Oldest sister gets married, well then later she announces she is going to have a baby. She is excited and the time comes and he is born, he is born with a rare condition where his kidneys, blatter and everything else is on the outside of his stomach. Well, the doctors tell her there are not many that make it that are born that way and if they do make it they don't live long.
Well, everyone prayed, that boy is still here today and has passed 40 years of age and why.... Because God is Good! Don't think all our prayers have been answered in the way we would think they would be because there is more to my story. My oldest brother (I loved him very, very much) was killed in a tractor trailor accident, he was only 30 and had two little girls and a wife. You know we could not understand why and my world came crumbling down, I questioned God because I was so hurt and I was still young and could not understand. I now know that he had his reasons even if I did not know why.
My oldest brother was a very special person and at times he seemed too good to be true so I guess God needed him. Now, I had a brother-in-law that had been around since I was little and was more like a brother.
He was murdered when I was about 23 years old, it was hard on all of us and we knew he lived a life that put him in harms way because of the people he liked to be around. We have had a lot of loss and you would think that we would become bitter but we have kept our faith and still belive in God. Now, you thought I was finished didn't you, well when I was 25 years old I lost my Dad, that was very hard but I still kept my faith. When I was 34 years old I lost another big brother (he was 38) and again we suffered. Also my little brother suffered a very bad accident but he pulled thru, thanks to God. I was saved at the tender age of 13, I have been thru more hard times but just can't list them all. But I will say that I still trust and belive in my God and always will. We may not understand why things happen the way they do but we have to leave it in his hands because he is the man with the plan. Life can be hard but God will always be with you to help you get thru it.
