Where do I go from here?

I am a new Christian and have much enthusiasm in learning all I can.

The main question I have is how do I find myself in Christianity?  Everything I was interested in before accepting Jesus as my Savior and King no longer applies...

I have a church home and am pretty involved there but, I feel that there is more He wants from me (more that I want to do for Him).

I feel that I've lost myself and what used to be a funny and interesting person is now an uninteresting shell of a human being.  Sometimes I'm too hard on myself but, all I really want to know now is....

Where do I go from here? :help:

Actually, self along with ego is something we want to get rid of as a christian. For me His tender mercy is made new and fresh every day. When I finish one adventure, I begin another one. It is exciting to live for God. Sometimes I am stubborn and do not want to go along with the program, but when I try to do things my way, it always ends up a miserable mess. So I am quick to repent and seek after God to follow Him and to do things His way.

Hey mydecember...

Just fall in love with Him. Christianity is about relationship first, not religion or a new way to go...but a living, wonderous, BEAUTIFUL relationship. Our God is seeking to reveal Himself to you, not only in head knowledge (which is needful) but in experiencing Him. The more you get to know HIm, the more you'll see how much there is to know of Him! He is the Heavenly Romancer. Just read the book of John, chapters 14-17. God, within Himself (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) is love personified. He desires to live in us in spiritual intimacy much the same way as the Father is in the Son. It takes my breath away!

God bless ya real good :)

First, find yourself a couple books by a guy named R.C. Sproul, he has some good info for new christians.  Then realize that God gave you talents (like being funny).  Figure out and pray about how to use them.  A christian comedian perhaps.  Spread the gospel through humor.  You didnt say how old you are, but if it is appropriate volunteer to work with kids or teens at your church.

Praise God that you feel the desire to work for Him!  Alot of people just want to rest and wait for Him to do wonderful things.  Be pro-active in your walk with Christ.  Seek knowledge, pray and His will for you will be revealed.

I'll be praying for you.

Thanks for all your wonderful suggestions and insight! I do teach Sunday School and am the secretary in the Christian Education Work Area and I am head coach of a youth soccer team and various other activities besides my full time job and part time home business. Sorry for the run-on sentence but sometimes when I think about it all I feel "run-on".

I am trying to stay proactive and I pray for the Lord to lead me in whatever direction he wants me to go.  I do love Jesus and the Father and people have told me that they see His light shine through me (which is fantastic).  :D

I absolutely love my church and the people in it and thank God everyday for His deliverance.  I don't know--I just feel as if I am lacking as a Christian--I'm the only one I have ever seen who is moved to tears in our services and I just feel different. I guess it could be the fact that I'm going through a lot (personally) and/or I'm flipping out.

Well friends, thanks for your prayers--you warm my heart.

Hi mydecember, sounds like you're staying pretty busy to me. You're doing exactly what you are suppose to be doing and that is working on your personal relationship with Christ. That's the road He wants you to be on. All the other things will fall into place. Having a church family is wonderful and with you teaching sunday school there sounds like you already have a full plate. Don't overwhelm yourself, just take things slow. The Lord wants to reveal His plan for your life in His time. It is up to us to be patient and wait for the answer. He will lead you where he wants you to go from here and you will know when that is happening.

P/N/B. here:
Hi, to hard on yourself? Perhaps not. Read Phil. 4:13, I will print it out for you in the Kings James. "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." Whatever is it that you want to do because you LOVE YOUR MASTER? Just do it, He will not let you down! And this is what developes your FAITH!

Another verse: Notice that Paul had a problem that God choose not to 'remove'!
And Paul aproached His Master only 'thrice'. And the reply came that Paul understood! Here it is in 2 Cor. 12:9. Yet, remember this PROMISE can be used for WHATEVER request that is of Gods will. Here is the Master's Words to Paul and you)
"[My grace is sufficient for thee]: for [MY STRENGTH IS MADE PERFECT IN WEAKNESS]."

Remember that you are now in the hands of the ETERNAL ONE! And it is His Word that tells us.. "For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they ARE THE SONS OF GOD" Rom. 8:14 (daughters too, huh? :)

Whatever you do, He will 'lead before' you! Yet, ALWAYS REMEMBER that this [work] is done because you LOVE HIM! (in other words, this is the fruit of salvation. Read Rev. 3:16-17 to understand that love needs to be feverant, and [is a principle] & is not always emotional -----P/N/B/
