I have one agreement, and one disagreement.
I disagree with your claim that the Bible OT was concocted. There are too many archaeological evidence proving that what was written in it and described in it for up to 1450 years Before Christ, and the descriptions in those writings supposedly dating up to 4500 years BC, to discard.
There are massive evidence on descriptions from archaeology that Bible criticizers made out as untrue, just like you, that was discovered over the last 150 years proving that there is not a single archaeological discovery contradicting the Bible. Therefore, I do not accept your claim when Archaeology, history and science proves otherwize.
Now the agreement.
There is no secular history of the Jews from that period, the history books mentioned in the scriptures vanished like Hillary Clintons e-mails.
The Jews did not exist during the Babylonian exodus.
They were Judeans, and the name was only coined in 440 BC when the Temple and Jerusalem was reconstructed.

So, as a matter of fact my agreement is actually also a disagreement.
because, you forget that there are what we call
SECULAR ARCHAEOLOGICAL DISCOVERIES PROVING THE BIBLE CORRECT LONG BEFORE THE BABYLONIAN CAPTIVITY.

What about the depiction as described in the Bible when Sennacherib came with an army to destroy Judea in 700 BC?
Siege of Lachish Reliefs at the British Museum – Ancient History et cetera
This happened 100 years before Jerusalem was attacked and destroyed.
Guess what, Sir Austen Henry Layard, John George Taylor, Sir Henry Rawlinson, Hormuzd Rassam, and William Loftus discovered Sennacheribs palace in Ninive in 1845 and found a relief 2.5 meters high running continuous for 30 meters in one room. Today you can see this in the British museum.
It depicts how the Assyrians came down to Judea, surrounded all the cities, destroyed the inhabitants bt beheading, impaling, skinning etc.
it shows how Senacherib gives a message to his Rabsakhe and much more. Senacherib boasts how he shut Hezehiah up in Jerusalem as a bird in a cage...
All this is to be found in the Old Testament, and all this descriptions was claimed not to have happened by many Bible critics over hundreds of years.
Guess what, they all were shut up when they found a stone cut 'Documentary" proving the Bible correct on this history.
Colter, I wish you would open your eyes and investigate before making claims that does not hold water.

I never said it was a complete fabrication, it was a case of mass editing and exaggeration of events, converting secular into miraculous. One could write an exaggerated history of Greece and point to the acropolis as proof. The exodus was a well planned escape across the water. That story was exaggerated to walls of water dividing and a Pharo stupid enough to take his men and chariots down into the mud to chase escaping slaves?????

When I use the term Jews you know what I mean. I could say Israelites, you are swatting at gnats.

What does the water symbolize in the other realm...?

What does it matter?

How will diddling and piddling around over what something "symbolizes" make me feed the poor. How will diddling and piddling over what something "symbolizes" bring me more love of Christ? How will diddling and piddling over what something "symbolizes" sanctify my life and make me a living imitation of our Lord, filled with Him and nothing else?

Then why spend my mortal time on being indirect about it instead of working toward the goal directly?

The Bible is a book that teaches faith and morals, in order to teach us how to achieve salvation. It does this by using songs, proverbs, histories, plays, legends, myths, letters, and apocalyptic visions.

The story of Noah is an example of a legend, meaning it has a basis in history, but has been altered over the tellings and retelling. But it's teachings of moral values is intact, which is why it is in the Bible.

There really was a flood, but it was a great local flood, that destroyed what Noah would have considered to have been "his world" but certainly not the entire earth. The memory of the event grew with time. Because it is legend, literary license is taken with the words used to tell the story. This does not make it "inaccurate" since legends are not meant to be historical in the first place.

Again,
Do you now also say that Jesus was not truthful?
He regarded these stories as true History!
What evidence do you have that the flood never occurred as the Biblical narrative?
I am not ashamed of anything in the Old Testament. because jesus was not, and He knew it was fully true, not just here and there!
