I was kinda hoping to get an answer from Catherineanne, but that doesn't mean I'm not open to all answers.

I will ask you though.....

You say "science always supersedes scripture as to truth about the natural world which man observes."

How do you figure?

Much of Genesis is a parable, that reflects the reality of the kingdom of God dimension and the way it operates or is...

https://www.christianforums.com/thr...true-may-be-beyond-our-comprehension.8035539/
Actually, nothing about Genesis fits the model of a parable.

On top of that.. nothing in Genesis is outside of the abilities of the Creator.

Thirdly, only the musings of men, mostly atheistic men, contradict what happened, literally, in Genesis.
I'm not saying that Christians don't entertain this belief, I'm saying that it is the assumptions, extrapolations and speculations of men that try to contradict the living word of God.

As for my belief in the Genesis account..

God said when He did it,
God said how He did it,
God said that He did it,
It was all within His capabilities..... so I conclude that He did it just like He told us.

I'm saying what is more important, is the unseen, in it...

I admit, I am just a silly person, so I will have a silly response:

God is not limited.

If God wants more water, God gets more water. If God wants the extra water to go away, the extra water goes away. God is God. God is not limited.

What does the water symbolize in the other realm...?

So much emphasis placed on "literal" interpretation, as if we know what is literal, and what is not?, in someone else's book and perspective, anyway...

God Bless!
Our definition of literal is limited to what we think we can prove and is very much limited to the physical realm, however, that is changing, even in science, anyhow, our definition of literal, is limited to what we think we can prove and know for sure, while God's is not, he knows all things and to him all things are proven and provable... Including where we are going with these new sciences changing our direction to question our solid literal, physical interpretations...

He knows and has seen it all...

We are essentially saying "What we think and know is real God, is more correct than yours..."

Oh, Ok, thanks. I believe that God's word is true and every man a liar.
If science disagrees with God's word, then science is missing some important information.

Indeed! God has NOT changed! He has always been, and ever will be the loving Father as revealed by the Son. It is man's perception of God that has evolved over time. Jesus taught that the "very hairs on our heads have been counted". To understand what others have taught (especially in the OT), it is necessary to FIRST embrace the revelations and teachings of the Master, Jesus Christ. THEN apply His teachings to those of others. Do this, and you will view the other scriptures differently....

What does the water symbolize in the other realm...?
Could it also be likened to a kind of fire also, under certain circumstances, and what is the common thread in that likeness...?

God Bless!

The flood is a vastly exaggerated, fictional story used by the Israelites in their attempt to connect their blood lines all the way back to Adam and Eve whom they assumed were the first humans.

The Old Testament was a religious, nationalist, political propaganda devise written for the scattered Israelite audience during the Babylonian captivity. There is no secular history of the Jews from that period, the history books mentioned in the scriptures vanished like Hillary Clintons e-mails.
