Where are you?

W here are you?, called God, though full well He knew.
H id behind leaves, so plain to his view,
E ve and her man, shamefaced, all askew,
R egretting full well that fell rendezvous.
E ve and her man, earth's first guilty two.

A re we like them, afraid to be seen?
R eady to blame, condemn, even God?
E vading the truth embracing the lies?

Y ou think not to stand, fig leaf in hand,
O n judgment day, no word to say,
U nable to answer the question?

An ambitious plan I wish you succeess in this endeavor.
P.S. I like free verse.
Yo to you Greatcloud.
Yes I had noticed, you like free verse.:)

AFISHAMOUNGMANY , could you please commenent on Rocks and Trees.
It is the next one to be published and I want to hear your critique........ :^)
Why do you want to hear my critique? Critique is difficult, it takes time and energy, most people don't really want it and can't take it when they get it.

Still waiting for the response to my new stuff in Rocks and Trees.

Thanks for your kind words Gc. Yes I've an ebook of poetry on Amazon (well last time I look, maybe a year back) but just about all my stuff is now here at CF. At my age getting mainstream published is no longer important. My stuff gets read. I'm happy with that.

Let's go get some people saved
Revival !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Salvation is of The Lord.

“When my soul fainted within me,
I remembered the Lord;
And my prayer went up to You,
Into Your holy temple.
Those who regard worthless idols
Forsake their own Mercy.
But I will sacrifice to You
With the voice of thanksgiving;
I will pay what I have vowed."

2- Ballad
In February 2015 in Libya, masked men dressed in black cut off the heads of twenty one christian, migrant workers. Mathew Ayairga, not a christian when captured, given the opportunity to renounce Christ and live said, "The God of these men is my God."

Ballad of the Twenty One

Twenty one and twenty one
Lined along the shore.
Every one a mother's son.
What was it all for?

Bright orange like candle flames,
These christian men did kneel.
The faceless ones behind them
Were black like blood congealed.

Hany, and Sameh, Mathew Ayairga,
From far to Libya's land.
To feed their wives and children
Their brave and honest plan.

But the faceless ones did take them
On parade along the shore.
The men in black did cut and hack.
What did they kill for?

Their bloody hands, their darken souls,
Like Zombies out of hell.
Yet every one was a mother's son,
A father's wishing well.

Malek, Mina, Youseff, Bishoy,
Martyrs for Christ their King.
Though their shining the devil annoyed,
It made the angels sing.

Twenty one bright orange flames,
Brave men of prayer and peace.
Twenty one black silhouettes,
Will their torment ever cease?

Praise God for these stalwart men,
The twenty one. Heroes all!
And are you also ready,
If ever comes the call?

3 – Cinquain

This form of poetry can be of varied complexity.
The simplest type is five lines of 2-4-6-8-2 syllables. A stress sequence 1-2-3-4-1 should also be a criterion if one keeps strictly to form.
Then there are these various permutations -
Reverse cinquain - a form with one 5-line stanza in a syllabic pattern of two, eight, six, four, two.
Mirror cinquain - a form with two 5-line stanzas consisting of a cinquain followed by a reverse cinquain
Butterfly cinquain - a nine-line syllabic form with the pattern two, four, six, eight, two, eight, six, four, two.
Crown cinquain - a sequence of five cinquain stanzas functioning to construct one larger poem.
Garland cinquain - a series of six cinquains in which the last is formed of lines from the preceding five, typically line one from stanza one, line two from stanza two, and so on.

The Sending

I am
Said He who is
Holy Holy Holy
Sang the angles in awe around
The throne

Moses
Heard these strict words
Take off your shoes Take care
He who had been curious now
Afraid

The God
Of Abraham
Made Moses messenger
To his people and to Pharaoh
Go tell

Why me
Send an other one
I am The Holy One
Tell Pharaoh that my people will
Go free

Angels
And your brother
Will help you do the task
So reluctant Moses obeyed
At last

5 - Diamante
A diamante poem is a poem that makes the shape of a diamond. The poem can be used in two ways, either comparing and contrasting two different subjects, or naming synonyms at the beginning of the poem and then antonyms for the second half for a subject.
In the poems, the subject is named in one word in the first line. The second line consists of two adjectives describing the subject, and the third line contains three verbs ending in the suffix ing which are related to the subject. A fourth line then has four nouns, again related to the subject, but only the first two words are related to the first subject. The other two words describe the opposite subject. The lines then are put in reverse, leading to and relating to either a second subject or a synonym for the first.

humble, assured,
singing, praying, serving
Christ, strength – bravado, fate,
wandering, wondering, rejecting,
sure, defiant,
Heathen

6 – Didactic (a teaching poem)

The Sermon
Good teacher sat on grassy hill
To teach those who would do his will.
Above the lake, where in was sky,
The holy man began to try
To tell on earth the heavenly state,
To speak of riches that await.

"For those who know themselves as poor
God's kingdom has an open door.
Those who sorrow for the sinning
Will rejoice in new beginning.

All who God willingly obey
Over all the earth will hold sway,
Longing within for right to rule,
The rule of God will make them full.

Softheartedness to another
Brings mercy from Christ your brother.
Keep thoughts, desires, clear and clean,
So The Holy One will be seen.

Pass on the peace to warring ones,
So will they name you God's own sons.
And if you're harmed while in the fight,
Stand in God's Kingdom, your birthright."

Above the lake, on grassy hill,
Good teacher taught, the crowd grew still.
“Be glad, children of my Father.
Scorn and wounds will take you further,
Closer to your rich rewarding
With me in The Kingdom's dawning."

7 – Epic
Having realised that writing an epic poem is a task of months and years, I've decided to do the other forms first. John Milton's 'Paradise Regained' of 2,065 lines is only considered a mini-epic. His 'Paradise Lost' of 10,565 lines makes it into the truly epic category. God allowing I may try for a mini-epic if I get through the other 49 forms.

So onto -
8 – Epigram

Some say, love unconditional
Should be the story we should tell;
Then sinners to church doors would flock
And even Satan might take stock.

But God's love has one certain law,
Entry is through the narrow door.

10 – Etheree
The Etheree form is ten unrhymed lines with a syllable count increasing from one to ten. It should focus on one idea or subject.

Trust Him!

I
Christ said
Am The Way
Walk you there in
And I am The Truth
Be you true then to Me
I am The Life before death
The Life after death forevermore
You live by the breath I gives to all
All who trust in Me have eternal life.

Hey afish,
Really enjoyed your didactic poem on The Beatitudes. Wonderful visual of Christ delivering His message surrounded by nature (which He created), talking to His followers (whom He would die to save).
Truth Himself speaking truth. This makes an excellent meditation.
