When God seems quiet to us...when the world seems to be taking all we are away from us... God tests our faith.....

Accepting Hopelessness - Anchor/Haven Ministries
Jesus said he would ask the Father and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever - the Spirit of Truth.... John 14:16-17

Through His Spirit, God's grace works to do the impossible. We find ourselves worrying over situations that we can not control, hindering God's grace from working powerfully.

We must admit before God that it is impossible for us to do anything apart from Him, as we cry out for help to Him, His grace will work in us.
May God give you peace in this matter as you continue to seek Him.

surround yourself with other believers. Being with others, who can help us, is an important part of our faith, it keeps us from falling away from God completely. I would be more than willing to talk with you, if you ever want to rant, or just chat please PM me. I know what it feels like to lose that "on-fire" feeling, but it is important to keep our faith despite that loss of feeling.

I strongly agree with that reply. Evertime I get away from the church or other believers, I find it is always difficult to stay in the Word and faith. Actually, I find it that much more difficult to get back...truth be told.

Quiet storm, might I suggest psalm 46? It is filled to the brim with the Lord's power over all adversity in the world..it also happens to contain one of my favorite snippets from the bible.."be still and know that I am God." for while I agree with all of the advice listed above, I also know that it Does help to just sit, silence yourself and listen to God...being surrounded by nature perhaps..or maybe not even that..but in today's society we have this incomprehensible 'need' to keep 'doing' 24/7 when we should really just sit down and listen to God once in awhile. So, my advice would be to yeah, try those things that other ppl mentioned but please also realize that we usually can hear God more when we are silent...our minds are always going , lest we get confused..

So......what do ou all do when it seems as though everything's lost? You've tried reading the Bible but i doesn't seem to work, you've tried praying and it doesn't seem to work and it's as though no one is around to help you. What do you all do then?

Hi Quiet Storm,

What you do is pick up your shield (have faith in Jesus), grab your sword (use the Word of God in all your circumstances, internal and external) and then you stand and you stand, therefore you stand. (Eph.6:11-18)

Your destiny is to be made Christlike and God is teaching you endurance, how to "stick it out" in the unpleasant circumstances. It is not fun when you are beginning to learn these things, but I promise, it does get easier.
My favourite saying is "hell is for wimps". It takes real guts to become like Christ because even our own selves (ie our sinful nature) is against us, let alone the Devil and the World as enemies as well.
I know it's not easy, I know you won't want to hear what I'm saying but if you listen, if you raise your eyes to look at Christ and Him alone, then I guarantee He will bring you through to the end.
This is your "decision time". Who will you serve?
"Choose you this day whom you will serve." (Josh.24:15)

Love in Christ (and a very big hug)

I too, strongly agree with this. I cannot tell you how much surrounding yourself with other believers can make a difference. In fact, its something that I need to do more often.
