Ive discovered that the more we give to God the more He gives back:o)
That verse in malachai that says "Prove me now" yep sure its to do with Israel really but we can apply it today:
Giving Gid time in worship, prayer and service and financial giving, is like bringing food to His house, tithes etc and He will bless us.
and prove now with this, says the Lord of hosts..
Prove, confirm, show. God is saying do these things, put Me first and then come and prove Me, come and put Me to the test and see what I will do for those who give me time in prayer, worship and service.
First we have to prove that we want something special from God by how we live our lives.
We need to have that attitude that says like Jacob said I will not let You go until You bless me
As we give God that extra time in prayer, worship, reading and study, and serve Him to, He then can show us what great things He will do, for those who make efforts for Him.
if I will not open you the windows of heaven and pour out a blessing that there shall not be enough room to receive it
This is surely what we all want to experience in our own lives and our churches. We want to experience God and His goodness in a way that is almost too much cope with. Gods promise is true, and if we do our part and make time for God, then He will begin to make things happen for us.
Our focus must be for God and then while we are focused upon Him He will give us so much more, first himself and the things we so long for.
Hope this helps someone it does me...Bless you john
