What happens to us if, we udder a curse word the second before we die and don't get a chance to ask for forgiveness? What if we follow Jesus our whole lives? Does that one curse word cancel out a lifetime of doing God's work?
Hi Jesus Freak!

Dad told me I should try to help people when they ask questions, that way I wll learn somethig too, and I just did. I gotta do another post on it, but let me answer your question first, ok?

No.

There, now that I've answered......

Ok, let me tell you why.

In John 10:27 Jesus says:

"My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. 28I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand. 29My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father's hand."

See, Jesus saved you from sin. I think you can be sure that He wouldn't let you go to hell if you cursed at the last second. I think what you mean is like if you were in an accident and just before you crashed you said, "Oh s***!" or something like that, right? No, our Lord, our God is too loving, caring and wise to wipe out everything because of that.

You might not get all the rewards that are earned, but then you might. I think it's not a matter of cursing, but your wittness for Him. If you all died in the crash, your wittness before that would be much more important. So, let me ask you something, are you a great wittness for Christ, or a luke warm one? I think what we do here and now in this life will be more important than what we do at the very last second.

Have no fear, God would not take away the greatest gift ever given to you because of that. Remember, we are the reason that He gave his life; we were the reason that He suffered and died. Nothing, not one thing can ever, ever change that.

God Bless!

Excellent answer, Mavrick JR!!

Thanks, Ce Ce! But I gotta give gredit to God's Word,I mean,if it wasn't for that I wouldn't have had the answer.

And, hey, I gotta make sure I know this if I'm gonna be a wittness, right? What is it Paul said to Timothy? Study to show thy self approved, a workman that need not be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth.

God Bless,

JR

We are not saved because we ask for it. Our sins are not forgiven because we repent. On the contrary, we desire the things of the Lord because He has rescued us from the depths of our fallen depravity. We ask the Lord to forgive us because He has given us the desire, through His regenerating presence, to seek Him.

The bottom line is, we are not redeemed because of something we do so the reason that someone isn't redeemed isn't because of something they did or didn't do. None are worthy of His redemptive grace. If our sins are forgiven because we ask that they be then it is not by grace that we are forgiven but rather the wages of our work (Romans 4:4). If you have a desire to be obedient to the Lord it is a mark of election. You are His. Conversely, nothing we do can merit salvation. So sinning is never the reason a person is not saved. We all sin and fall short of the gloriousness of God. If we are forgiven it is because the Lord, in His majestic wisdom, saw fit to make us His. I encourage you to always repent of your sins but do so because you are forever a child of God, not so that you can be one.

God bless
