Ephesians 1:4 is what I am responding to. As such, I don't think you understand my argument.

The mystery was not made known the the Ephesians. It was made known to the prophets and Apostles through revelation. Further, we see in verse 13 that Paul is clearly speaking of a separate group (In Him you also) to which also receive blessings from God through the Holy Spirit.

I'd say it was made known by visions and revelations to Paul (2 Co 12:1-7), for not all of Eph 1:4-14 was revelation given to the prophets and apostles.

Paul says the mystery was made known to "us" and he wasn't speaking of himself in the plural. Therefore, he is contrasting different groups based on Ephesians 1:13. Paul lays out exactly who the "us" is in Ephesians 2:20, which Paul then contrasts once again the exact way, "In Him you also" in Ephesians 2:22.

"This was not made known to people in other generations as it is now revealed to his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit:"

So the "mystery" to which Paul says was revealed to "us" was not the Ephesians but the Apostles and prophets to whom are also those who were "predenstined before the foundation of the world." In other words, Paul is not speaking ABOUT the Ephesians in Ephesians 1:3-12, but TO them about the Apostles and prophets and their calling to which it is also said,

1 Corinthians 4:1
"A person should think of us in this way: as servants of Christ and managers of the mysteries of God."

@Clare73, I would like to send you a PM if you are okay with that so that I can better articulate my soteriology to you. You have "liked" my posts, which shows you are at least not hostile towards my ideas here. I have been working on my understanding of Soteriology for years. I would love to find another person who can agree with me because, as of yet, no one has thought I am right, largely because they are already convinced of other soteriology systems like Calvinism and Arminianism, which they are committed to.

Matthew 28:16-20
"The eleven disciples traveled to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had directed them. When they saw him, they worshiped, but some doubted. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. Water baptism is what Christ is commanding here. Elsewhere we see,

Matthew 3:11-12
"“I baptize you with water for repentance, but the one who is coming after me is more powerful than I. I am not worthy to remove his sandals. He himself will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. His winnowing shovel is in his hand, and he will clear his threshing floor and gather his wheat into the barn. But the chaff he will burn with fire that never goes out.”"

Therefore, baptism, in both the baptism of water and the baptism of fire, is what Christ intends for us.

and means it was written in the PAST , in the INDICATIVE MOOD , means you better belikeve it , in the SINGULAR

IN A FEW WORDS // OLIGOS , in the DATIVE CASE , in the SINGULAR , and spoke only one TIME of the FOUNDATION

in 1 Cor 3:10 .

I am saying Galatians 1:15 is about his calling. Acts 9 is his conversion.
