When To Tell Work?

When did you guys tell your jobs about your pregnancy?

I just started a temp job 3.5 weeks ago and am wondering when I should tell them. I'm struggling to find clothing that doesn't make it obvious that I'm over 17 weeks along

Hi Banana Cake;
With you being in a temporary position, I would be concerned about telling them too soon for many reasons. There might be some guidelines with your agency that you can refer to; a contract, etc. that might help you decide when/if to tell them. Of course, it will be obvious in another month or two...Congratulations to you and take good care of yourself.

I have been with my work for many years...only a handful know ( I am in my 11th week and not showing yet). There are actually 3 women there who are not pregnant who look more pregnant than I will be at 8 months!!! No kidding. (One is single; not involved, one had a hysterectomy and one told someone that she is "just fat"... Since I have added weight, no one would suspect that I am pregnant, yet. I don't plan on saying anything to anyone else unless they ask!
At my age, 44, they certainly aren't expecting it,
neither was I!

I have made it clear that I only wanted a temporary position and I'm not looking for permanent employment. And I don't think they're looking for someone permanently, anyway.

I guess I'm trying to be prepared in case the topic of how long I'm staying comes up. It's also really hard to find clothing that hides my ever-growing belly!

I pretty much told my managers as soon as I knew for sure... but that was because there is a lot of lifting, and standing on my feet at my job, and I misscarried my last pregnancy... so I wanted to take every precaucion I could this time arround... and now I am off work till after the baby gets here, I am not due till April 8th, everyone seems to think he'll be here sooner... I am hoping to prove them wrong....

I don't know what it's like over there but here in the UK you have to tell them at least 15 weeks before you plan to give up work.
As it was i told when i was about 8 weeks as i was having bad morning sickness and also had loads of appointments to attend

Well since I work for my in-laws, they knew right away! I also do some substitute teaching and very few people at the school know. There were two other teachers pregnant at the school and I felt funny saying I was pregnant also because I'm not showing all that much and they were ready to pop.

I had to tell both of my main jobs right away, because I am responsible for all the shopping at one, and the other I climb poles and set elements and belay, so I had to let them know I can not do those things anymore, so they have all known pretty much since I did.

Well, on Thursday, a co-worker asked me if I was PG, so I felt I had to tell my boss. She was nothing but thrilled for me It probably helps that she has 2 kids of her own.

And even though I'm a temp, they made it clear that they like me so much, I could come back after the baby if I want. How nice

My boss knew before I did, cause I got really weepy one day.
