  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Is'nt it reassuring to know that we have a great Priest - Jesus Christ who is able to sympathise with our weakness because He was tempted in every way, just as we are - Heb 4:15. He is able to help those who are being tempted.

Titus 2.11 reminds us, "For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. It teaches us to say "No", to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age. Indeed in this present age we need to hold on to this truth.

Dear friends in Christ, the Word of God (the bible) is an extremely useful weapon in times of temptation and trials and a very effective "life manual" in the world we live in today. Lets make more use of it and thank God for this wonderful provision.
