do you reply:-

Yes, I will pray for you

OR

I will pray GOD'S WILL FOR YOU.

It depends on how I am moved to pray, I think. I've actually prayed both ways, but never both ways for the same person.

thank you. I have a friend who has told me that not everyone is going to be saved - only who God allows to be saved. I asked for prayer for my brother who has had eye surgery, and, at present cannot see. He is a single father and taking care of two little girls. He also had covid this year. She said she will pray God's will and all of my other friend's said - We will pray for restoration and healing.

I'm sorry to hear about your brother, that's a scary situation to be in.

While I believe not everyone will be saved, sometimes going through tribulation brings people closer to God, and other times tribulation pushes people away. It definitely has a tendency to bring a person's true self to the surface, in a manner that the person affected has the opportunity to examine their deepest flaws and spiritual failings. Some use that opportunity for self examination, and others ignore the opportunity and lash out in anger. (Others do a little of both).

I believe God uses trials for our benefit regardless. When I pray God's will for a person, I'm actually praying that the experience brings said person closer to God in appreciable ways.

When we pray to our heavenly Father, we are acknowledging who He is. God has many names,, titles and attributes including He is Jehovah Rapha, our healer ((Exo 15:26).

There are many Scriptures that state God's will. "Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth." III John 2:2

Always say "Thank you!" "I think prayer will help." or to that effect.

This supports them, no matter what your own theory is on the effectiveness of prayer for others.

Say to the person, "Yes, I will pray for you." You do not have to specify how you will pray, or what your prayer will be for. I will pray for someone's healing, but I also will pray that they will get support and comfort from those around them; I pray for the medical people treating them that they will be succesful; I will pray that the subject of my prayer will be able to accept, through God's grace, whatever may be in store for them.

I know of people, some close to me, who have chronic and/or incurable conditions. I pray for them differently than I would for someone undergoing surgery. In the case of surgery, I pray for the person as well as those who are operating on them.

One of the primary benefits of prayer, which other posters have mentioned, is the solace it gives the person, to know that others care about them and are praying. Much of the power of pray, I think, occurs in that regard, in boosting the patient's mental and spiritual outlook, which in turn can have a positive effect on their physical outcome.

Healing is generally God's will. I often try to pray for the sick. At other times I involve our local church to pray as well, as the bible says:

Jas 5:14-15 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.
