  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

82 days left... and some things left to do!
- get last 3 invitations sent out (waiting on addresses from fiance...)
- get final dress fittings
- order flowers (we're doing our own so we just have to order them like a month before)
- meet with reception hall (about food, decorating, and set-up)
- fiance has to find suits for groomsmen and himself
- we have to find somewhere to live! (house-hunting with real estate agent on Friday)
- last premarital counselling session with pastor on Thursday
- I'm sure there's more things to do!

So... things are coming together, and still some significant things left to do, but I am trying not to worry about them! :)

Just wait and be patient, you're time will come. I really thought I'd never be to this point, but now I have 89 days! I still can't believe it. God will lead in His time. :) I still feel like there is so much for me to do. I'm making headway on addressing my invitations which I need to send out soon. Little by little things are getting done :) Less than 3 months! yea!

Ditto to what JPL617 said... It's exciting "thinking" of planning a wedding, but in my experience, it's not only the fun details, but thinking "oh my... where wouldi hire 'tablecloths' from?!".

But in another respect, planning for the future, talking of having children, our future, extra training, where to live, ways to live etc... that's fun and exciting!

i'm fed up now my fiance and I have been engaged since January 2005 and we were going to get married in september but his parents went mad and basically said that they were going to disown him if we did it but now I am really unhappy because we have been forced into doing something which is not right for us.

Honestly? I could care less about all these details - I ended up letting mum organise a lot of them, because at the start I said I didn't see the point, but SHE said she wanted to make my wedding 'lovely', and I needed these things for that. Those things included cake, flowers, stationary, ornaments all of that.

I compromised and MADE myself get interested - I had to. I wasn't excited about the planning at all - frankly I hated nearly every second... ^_^

I am not the typical bride.

Sasch...I'm kind of with you on that one...I enjoyed planning at the beggining of it, but some of it just seems to overwhelm me and I just wish things could get done on their own. My wonderful mother has helped me tons as well :) As far as decorating, I'm pretty much leaving that up to these ladies in my church that I know will do a good job. They know my colors and everything, so they will make it beautiful ;)

8 days to go, and it's all organised. All that's left is picking up my dress, getting my hair/nails/wax done, and meeting with people for the final time on the Friday the day before.

SOOO glad - couldn't think of anything worse than having to do orders of service next week or something!

I have no clue when or if I will ever have a wedding. I would like to but we both come from VERY poor families, and we're long distance, so it's not like we have one common church willing to pay for it for us. I am hoping to get a job, and then we could be married anytime as soon as this summer to a year from this summer (depending on if I send him to Bible school again so he can be spiritually secure enough to be the spiritual head of house or not)
