With reference to your assertion that God is a contract God, you really must come to see that this view is not supported by Scripture but is something that we read into the Scriptures. We do that because that is what we experience in our lives - people engage us contractually. We then do the edxact opposite of what Genesis tells us is the truth; we paint the face of God with our human experience. Rather than a humanity created in the image of God, we have created a God in our image.

Pete, this is so, so, so true.  Very insightful.

Don, you wrote earlier "God is a covenant keeper and man is a covenant breaker.  Thank God He remains faithful even when we aren't." All I can say is Praise God and Amen to that brother.

Amen Pete.  Seeing the glory of God through His faithfulness does so much to increase my own faith.

God bless you too my brother,

Don

Hi Don, very well said.

Here's hoping your day is joyful.

A covenant is a covenant and a contract is a contract - they are NOT NOT NOT the same thing!

Webster's New World Dictionary defines a contract as an agreement between two or more people.  It also defines a convenant as an agreement; a compact.  They sound the same to me.

Any attempt to make these words mean the same thing is the same as trying to make night and day mean the same thing - it can't be done.

Mary, how are you?

I've been better but thanks for asking. I hope things are going well. I can scarcely imagine anything sadder than this.

Don, bless you my brother, and Mary, I am still praying for your situation - may it improve and may you be richly blessed.

Pete.

Not to discount Noah Webster but his definitions are not given to be biblically applicable and it can be quite fruitless to compare the secular use of a word to the biblical use of a word.

Blessings to both you and Mary, Pete. :)

Thanks so much my friend.

Luke - 17 :

If your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him. 4If he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times comes back to you and says, 'I repent,' forgive him."

I do not believe that God would set one standard for us and another for himself , "GOD IS LOVE"
