When does life begin?

Statement by Paul E. Rockwell, M.D.: "Eleven years ago while giving an anesthetic for a ruptured ectopic pregnancy (at 8 weeks gestation), I was handed what I believe was the smallest living human ever seen. The embryonic sac was intact and transparent. Within the sac was a tiny human male swimming extremely vigorously in the amniotic fluid, while attached to the wall by the umbilical cord. This tiny human was perfectly developed, with long, tapering fingers, feet and toes. It was almost transparent, as regards the skin, and the delicate arteries and veins were prominent to the ends of the fingers."
Dr. Rockwell continues, "The baby was extremely alive and swam about the sac approximately one time per second, with a natural swimmer's stroke. This tiny human did not look at all like the photos and drawings and models of 'embryos' which I had seen, nor did it look like a few embryos I have been able to observe since then, obviously because this one was alive! When the sac was opened, the tiny human immediately lost his life and took on the appearance of what is accepted as the appearance of an embryo at this stage of life (with blunt extremities etc.)."
The statement by Paul E. Rockwell, M.D., an anesthesiologist, was quoted by Dr. and Mrs. J.C. Willke in their Handbook on Abortion.

Am I the only one who finds it odd that when that baby died, it's extended fingers and toes that were supposedly extended and well-developed, suddenly shrank back into formless stubs? Why would that happen? And why on earth would a baby be able to swim around at only 8 weeks, and with a swimmer's stroke at that? I'm pretty sure they don't have the kind of muscle for that. This baby seemed unusually active for 8 weeks, seeing as how the most most mother's feel is kicks. I highly doubt that that testimony is true.

Personally I think any argument apart from life beiginning at conception has lost the plot. If a male and a female dont have sexual intercourse there will be no life created. Thats when life starts at conception. Is it life? well yes 100% more than if there is no conception. The discussion reveloves around excuses to justify terminating a life.
And the answer is to teach people this and that sex is for a faithful man woman marriage... but to love and support anyone who fails to meet this ideal without any condemnation.

That is not exactly true. There ARE valid reasons that a wife can reject her husband's advances...sickness is one...

It woud be funny if it was relevant but life begins with sperm and egg... conception

It starts when the sperm fertalises the egg. Its a much less complex version of life than a feteus however its still life in its most basic form

Well if they are known to God then they are a living life to God.
It matters not what we believe.
It matters though that we should please God.
