I began prepping in 1998-99 during the Y2K scare. Of course we all know it nothing ever came of it, but it was a legitimate scare. I’m glad we prepped and maintained our storehouse, because it kept us somewhat ready for any danger that was always before us. I live in a hurricane, tsunami zone, so being prepared all year long makes a ton of sense. It certainly gave me piece of mind all these years. We know it’s a matter of “when” and not “if”. Besides, prepping takes time to build reserves and get educated. I don't regret getting an earlier start.Was being prepared for major emergencies part of your family life growing up?

So when it happens you will not even notice...Raised that way on a farm. Didn't even realize we were prepping, as we were just living and preparing.
If things would have went south , We wouldn't even have knew about it for a couple of weeks.
I am 46 years, I was raised this way and I have decided that I don't want to change my lifestyle one bit, I love it. :]
That is a fact. I think if everyone would give this lifestyle a chance, they would be hooked.The true aim of every prepper is not survival... it is self sufficiency.
