LOCO said:This is the prophecy about Jesus.
Thats quite a leap don't you think? Is this your personal interpretation, or does the Bible actually indicate that reading somewhere?

Jud 1:3
Beloved, although I was very eager to write to you about our common salvation, I found it necessary to write appealing to you to contend for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints.
Personally, I do not see the contradiction that many do between worshipping on Sunday and not Saturday. The Sabbath (Saturday) is a day of rest from work, not a day to do work such as religious work or any other sort of work. Those who choose to engage in religious work on Saturday are as guilty of violating the Sabbath as those who work on that day in a factory. Personally, I like to rest on the Sabbath, which I am doing now BTW, and worship on Sunday. God has never restricted His worship to only one day a week, has He?
Sunday was instituted by the CC because that was the day Jesus rose from the dead. Catholics are no longer bound by the Old Covenant. The Old Covenant was between God and the Jewish people ONLY.
Jesus brought about a New Covenant. The New Covenant includes Gentiles. The old laws no longer apply to Catholics.

LOCO said:It is not my personal interpretation. I don't subscribe to the practice of personal interpretation of Sacred Scripture popular among some modern day Christians.
This interpretation is held by the majority of Christian theologians, Catholic and non-Catholic.

Exactly why I attend Mass daily.

So an appeal to tradition...got it

LOCO said:No, that verse has nothing to do with Sacred Tradition. The majority of Catholic and non-Catholic theologians interpret that particular verse that way.
If you don't interpret that verse that way you would be in the minority.
If you are referring to the practice of worship on Sundays, I would say it is a Catholic Sacred Tradition because Jesus rose on a Sunday.
Being a non-Catholic means that you don't have to worship on Sundays.
You could do what the SDA's do and worship on Saturdays or choose another day, maybe Tuesdays. Knock yourself out, there are 6 other days to choose from.

Wow. Okay, So then:
An appeal to authority
Followed by
An appeal to majority
So in your own words, how do you make that leap, instead of the more obvious meaning?

We can pick any day, really? What is with the "pick and choose" Christianity? We can't pick which commands we want to follow and how we want to follow them. The Sabbath is formed after YHWH's day of rest. He rested on the 7th day. It's HIS day after all.
IDK what Jesus you serve, but my Jesus would never reject the words and commands of His Father. It just doesn't make sense for Him to say "I havent come to abolish the Law and Prophets, just to abolish them". Sin is still sin, He paid the penalty of it but that doesn't give us liberty to keep transgressing.
The law and prophets HANG ON these 2 commands. It doesn't cancel them out. Think of a mobile, the things that hang on it are part of it!

Jesus didn't say abolish...He said fulfill. Huge difference. Paul said the law is dead and nailed to the cross along with Jesus. Either Paul was totally wrong and preaching a whole different gospel or your understanding of Jesus' words is flawed.
When we keep the law of love we two have kept the intent of the old law. Simple and beautiful.
