I did an interesting study on this several months ago. The scriptures indicate that the earth is around 6,000 years old. If you add the 1,000 years where the earth will be left desolate, you will come up with a total of 7,000 years. Now let's consider the following verse:

2 Peter 3:8 "But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day."

So, if 1,000 years is like one day to God, then 7,000 years is like one calendar week - the 7th day of the calendar week being the Sabbath.

Now let's look at the following millenial calendar

1st Day: 1,000 years
2nd Day: 1,000 years
3rd Day: 1,000 years
4th Day: 1,000 years
5th Day: 1,000 years
6th Day: 1,000 years
7th Day: 1,000 years/Satan bound/earth left desolate with carcasses of the wicked dead awaiting second resurrection

The final 1,000 years will cause the earth to keep the Sabbath that it has for so long rejected. Even in death, the lost will keep the Sabbath during this 7th millenium.

It was a fascinating study to say the least.

Interesting debate on this subject, among Christian s Doctor Walter Kieser a professor of the old testament , raisers some interesting about the methods used to date creation from the dates in the Bible, and why this method system, maybe flawed.

Mr. Pickles:

We do not know how long Adam and Eve was in the Garden before the sin. Time for us is like a prison even our measure of time of how light travels to reach us is all different because of sin and our nature. Man is a rebellious being going off course and unless he along with Satan an his angels are kept in place they would corrupt everthing. My point is after sin the counting system of man aging began. This earth we cannot tell the age due to the flood and YAHWEH did that for a reason to keep us restrained.

Happy Sabbath and be bless with love,

If you notice it states a day or a thousand years is as which is the important key to the text. A thousands years goes by or set for ELOHIM like the time of day goes by or set for us. You can not fathom time for ELOHIM because is used to restrain or place under probation. But as it speed up that is time the process of probation will eventually come to its end. That is all do not make it more then it actually is!

I don't doubt that. We should never apply a beginning or an end to God, as far as time goes, due to His eternal nature; however, He does recognize time frames and the spaces of time between the cause and effect when it pertains to us. After all, He inspired His prophets to pen the 70 week, 1,260 year, 2,300 year prophecies. He doesn't limit Himself to time, because He doesn't die. But, this is simply a description of what the past 1,000 years in our existence feels like to Him. To Him, it has gone by in a flash, while it has felt like eons to us. We see our lives as long, significant events, whereas the lifetimes pass like vapors to Him.

So, I agree with you in what you're trying to say, but we also have to recognize that there has been a 6,000 year period where God has been working with mankind. A period that had a beginning, and one that will have an end. Peter just gives us an insight of what this period has felt like to God, in comparison to mankind. In heaven, nothing dies and life is eternal, but the context changes when the events are happening on our planet.

God is timeless, but our current holding place is not.
