The frustrating part in it is that CPS can never really defend their decisions (they are privy to more information than we see outside of courts) because of privacy and legal issue. And if they can't provide that information, yes, it will make them look baaaaaad.
I've been involved in cases where, if the public was aware of how the parents were REALLY behaving around their children, they wouldn't be so quick to pull the "CPS kidnapped that poor ladies kids!"
