Probably at the end of the year. My extended family all gets together for Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day. Sometimes an additional time during that season for birthdays. I usually buy presents throughout the year, but there's still a lot of preparation and hubbub.

August to October, cows are calving.

November to January, cows are getting back in calf.

February to March, I'm fencing off the paddocks ready for the turn out.

March I go travelling.

June, the cows drop in yield and I start drying them off.

July I go travelling.

August to October, cows are calving...

Yup, it's just one big vicious cycle..

Summer. Weather is good so that means I can do home improvement projects, go fishing, hiking, shooting, camping, prospecting, hang out with friends, etc.

Day to day, I am really never busy. I work a 12hr shift and have about 2hrs worth of work to do. I then have either 3 days off or 4 days off. I have around 200 hours of vacation time built up since I really don't need to take time off.

I go to the gym during work hours and do all my internet surfing and Netflix watching at work. If it wasn't for the graveyard hours, I would have the perfect job. Of course, when something does happen, it can be very stressful for short periods of time. Me and my partner are paid for our experience and expertise dealing with unique scenarios. 95% of the time they don't happen. When they do, we earn our pay.
