  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I wonder why its so hard for some to believe that we can hear Jesus speaking to us direct. I know this may seem hard for some to understand, for me I know why some may think this way. But hearing Jesus speak is as easy as drinking water. For some its like swallowing a 2kg steak whole.

But lets not get into what I understand or what I know to be fact and a way of life, a natual way to live. Lets look at the simple truth of scripture, as a Christian, I am a Christian by choice. I heard the written word and it just stuck in my heart, what made it stick there? What drives my desire in Him?

My Spirit and Love for Him, not an idea of Him based on human research over many years, just pure love for Him.

If Jesus said "I love you" why would He lie ? If Jesus said "Walk to me" Why would I not walk to Him? If Jesus said "Love one another" Why would I not love others? Jesus is the Master of us all, we as Christians should give full authority to Him and Him alone. We should not go against the word of Christ because a man said do this or we do that. We are Christians, we follow our Master, our Lord and saviour. His rule out lives and out rules any man or group regardless of how smart they think they are. Jesus said we can hear Him, Jesus said we can learn from Him, Jesus said we can learn to hear His voice, why is that hard to believe? Is it we don't believe because it just to hard to understand or is it we just lack faith in His words?

I am not judging anyone here, I am just saying we can live with Christ now with out having to wait for later. Jesus is not dead, He is alive and waiting for us to turn to Him, not in the way we think. But turn to Him as a child, new and ready to be filled in Him. Kids don't have heaps of knowledge, yet when mum or dad say to the little ones, love others, pray for your enemies, that kid will grow up doing just that. We have to become like little kids if we wish to hear the Master and grow in Him. We have no power in saving ourselves, we can't because we did not pay the price. Only Jesus paid that price, only Jesus can save and we need to turn to Him in Spirit and in truth in order to be really saved.

I am no genius, nor am I a poet, I fail in using words, but I understand one simple truth and Jesus taught it to me, "LOVE" we fail it every day, we love in a way we know, not the way He knows. Love is everything and we need to learn LOVE to hear Jesus in Spirit. Love all you meet, and never use love for selfgain, just Love as He loves.

But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved (Ephesians 2:4-5).

Some of us aren't as fortunate at taking in what The Lord is trying to push into our hearts. People are weak, but they are afraid to show it. So out of pride, it makes it more difficult for some people to embrace God's word. That is why it's our job as Christians to help spread the faith! Once one understands that they need God and not the temptations of the world, their eyes will be opened to insurmountable love (and truly understand what all the hype about John 3:16 is all about) :)

In the times in which we live it is imperative that we hear from God. Some would have you believe that Jesus doesn’t speak to us today. That could not be further from the truth. Jesus said my sheep know my voice and a stranger they will not follow.
In this last hour the Lord wants to commune with His people. He wants to be an ever present help in times of trouble. If we incline our ears to heaven and wait upon the Lord He will speak to us. Remember what the prophet Eli told the soon to be prophet Samuel. If the Lord calls you again say this speak Lord your servant heareth.

Yes, I think this too, I think you hit the nail on the head. I do love it when i see truth spoken.
If we run with your statement, knowing this to be so, how would we best address the situation. How would we best reach out to our own brothers and sisters and help them understand.

Do we just keep quoting scriptures ? Or do we get down in it and get to work showing others the light in a way most have not seen.

Better still, what would Jesus do ? Let us remember He loves them and would love to talk to them now, what would Jesus do to show the world He is waiting for them now?

I could sit on a forum and quote scriptures all day long, but we who know Jesus and hear Him, understand that would be worthless if one does not understand the Spirit language. So it beggs the question, what would Jesus do?

I mean, we all see scriptures, yes. We all think we know its meanings, yes. But we have many Christian Sects, which is true to this fact, we all have an understanding that we know. But what if it was not meant to be that way, what if there is just one understanding to it all, I mean one body one Christ. Unitity in Christ.

Many read the scriptures, but do they know them in the heart where it all comes together in Him? No matter how I look at it, it always comes back to this simple view, Jesus has His way and men have thiers, which way are we looking at.
