I agree that the pm shouldn't have been made public. I don't even think there was a need to share that someone pm'd you; unless you had that person's permission. If it's private; keep it private. jmo

At least he kept it private, and put "offenses" is in quotes. That part was most certainly meant to be taken tongue and cheek LOL! Why become publicly defensive over a polite *private* request to tone down the PDA? Not everybody is into that sort of thing, if you know what I mean. CONGRATULATIONS, you've just made a mountain out of a molehill!

Well, the picture is public, and it *is* a display of affection. Not everybody is into that sort of thing... especially if they spend a lot of time around here. I read a few threads the other day that address very issue. It is in poor taste. Some consider it rude, but I don't. I don't see how anyone can view a picture as rude, But thanks for answering my question. Though your definition of PDA was a bit of a stretch.
Would people have an issue with it if it was a friend or something? No. Its just because they are a couple that people think is PDA. But oh well.

Were they even a couple when that pic was taken? I hug my friends that are female, and it is not a PDA thing. It's just a hug. How that is offensive, I will never know.

I'm right there with you. But do you think this person really wanted to create a fiasco? All they did was discretely broach the subject. Notice how it was a private request, and not a demand. Keri turned it into a public carnival. I know the person who sent the PM, but not in the way that you might think. I'll bet he is embarassed.
The Holy Spirit will cast out the spirits of confusion and malice. We are among friends.

A PDA is best defined as any physical contact lasting longer than 3 seconds. At least that what's they tell us about uniforms.

Calling it PDA is a huge stretch by my definition. I wouldn't have a problem with a picture even if they were having a simple kiss. What I believe is happening is that some people that do not have a significant other are jealous and can't stand seeing other people happy when they are not..

It is a matter of motivation as well. Do you think it is appropriate to make a show of doing things to cause our brothers and sisters to stumble, or to lord our worldly state over them? Maybe, just maybe, Keri showed her true colors when she started this thread. Should we not show a degree of kindness toward those who are perhaps weaker or less fortunate than us? Maybe we shouldn't. Maybe we should also be dishonest, and make private matters public. I can do that too. You tell me.

She should not have shared the PM. I totally agree with that. But from there out I don't agree. I don't see how a picture of a dating couple cheek to cheek can make a person stumble. I think it is asking way too much to ask a person not to show a picture of one's significant other. And I don't think showing the picture is worldly or unkind. She has a boyfriend and that is great. Other people desperately want a boy/girlfriend and don't like the evidence that other people do have one. Probably people that don't have a significant other should not be invited to weddings because it is not only not a picture but you see it for real and hopefully eternal.

I just don't understand this issue of supposed PDA at all. If you look at my camera icon you will see a pic of me and my bf, and we are standing close to each other, touching even! 
But is the only issue is because hers is the avatar and not in her camera icon? So because hers is more easily viewable that makes it inappropriate? I just think someone needs to put on their big girl panties and deal with it.
