  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

My favorite soup has changed since I posted in this thread a few years ago. I am now for the most part a vegetarian, so my new favorites, I would have to say, are tomato soup (with grilled cheese sandwiches), and I also like lentil soup, especially Amy's brand.

If you're a meat lover (or are married to one, like me) you can crumble up some browned Italian sausage meat in the soup as well.

Cheese Tortellini Crockpot Soup

16 oz frozen tortellini
1 small bag fresh spinach
2 cans (15 oz) Italian style diced tomatoes
1 box or 4 cups vegetable broth
1 block (8oz) cream cheese
salt & pepper to taste

Put all ingredients in the crockpot, chunking up the cream cheese. Cook on low for 4-6 hours, stirring a couple times while cooking.

**Update: Many reader comments below suggest adding the tortellini at the end of the cooking time, about the last hour. Some prefer the tortellini more al dente, less soft.

My daughter makes that, too (she gave me the cheesy tortellini soup recipe). When I saw a cup of heavy cream was in the recipe I thought twice about having it again (even though I do occasionally). There are a number of kopykat recipes.
