I don't know; it's hard to say. I grew up around a lot of music, so it has influenced me in a big way. I spent my life soaking it all in, and as a result, I enjoy a wide variety, different styles and different eras. I don't think I have an absolute favorite, but I have a wide range of songs I really, really enjoy. And I guess you can say I have my "favorite of the moment", which happens when one is simply "into music" as I am. Some of you may be able to relate.

Since we're focusing on 80s, I will post a few that I really like.

As far as Christian music goes, my first influence in that traces back to the mid-1980s, when I went to an Amy Grant concert. Therefore, I credit her in that my personal music collection started with her music!

Here are some notable favorites:

I don't know that I could pick only one song to be my favorite. I mainly listened to country and hard rock during that time. But if I had to narrow it down to a single song then I would have to go with "Photograph" by Def Leppard.

Round and Round by Ratt

I bought my first car, a 1970 Ford Torino 2dr, in 1985, and every time I hear Round and Round, I instantly am transported back in time to the sounds and smells of that old Ford. I installed a tape deck and a couple of 6"x9" speakers and the first tape I played was Ratt's. Lack of Communication has the same effect as well, lol.

It's hard to pick one song. Seeing so many of them are good.

New Moon On Monday - Duran Duran
Pride (In the Name of Love) - U2
Just Like Heaven - The Cure
I wanna be Sedated - The Ramons
Rock you Like a Hurricane - Scorpions
Head over Heals - The Go Go's

The list could go on and on.

SRV was one of the best guitarists to ever live. His live performances were better than his studio recordings in most cases, which really highlights his talent. Here are just a few of my personal favorites of his. Have not saw the legend mentioned in the thread so I have to fill that requirement.
