Whats Your Favorite Book?

Wow, I always have trouble answering this question. I am quite a bibliophile, so it's hard to pick. Some of my favorites include Rainbow Medicine by Wolf Moondance (it's a reflection of native american spiritual beliefs and is related to Christianity), Wonder Boys by Michael Chabon, The Eyes of the Dragon, by Stephen King, The Snow Garden by Christopher Rice, and any Garfield treasuries.

What did you think of Lamb? I wanted to read it back when I was a practicing pagan, but ever since I returned to Christianity I have been hesitant because I didn't think the first couple chapters portrayed Jesus the way he punched Biff was a good thing or not. I am still learning about Christianity, so I don't want to be blasphemous at all. You can probably tell me I am acting silly. I probably am.

My favorite fiction is The Silmarillion by JRR Tolkien
My favorite theology is The Everlasting Man by GK Chesterton. closely followed by Lewis' Mere Christianity.

As for non fiction I love "The Dumb Ox" (Biography of St. Thomas Aquinas) by GK Chesterton.

As you can see my 3 favorite authors are 3 good friends, but I promise you I read other stuff!! lol

Buskanaka did you read The Endless Knot,the third book from the Song of Albion?I`m keeping my eyes open for it,but it`s nearly impossible to find it here.

In the UK, the BBC have been doing a survey of the general population to see what their favourite books are. This is a general poll rather than just one of Christians, but it's pretty interesting. I've only just joined this site so haven't got enough posts to post the URLs, but if you go to the BBC web site and search for the term "big read" you should find it pretty easily. It's been slightly rigged so that no author appears twice in the top 21.

I'm pretty fickle, myself. My favourite book is usually the one I've read most recently....

Well, I guess this is such a fluid question. After all, you dont stop reading when ur a book lover. And u just keep on finding new favorites as time goes by

i did indeed, i own the whole series. in fact i think i own every stephen lawhead book that has been published

My favorite book would have to be 1984 by George Orwell, its pure genius. Orwell found a way to destroy language which is one of the central themes of the book.

I also loved teh Incarnations of Imortality series by Pieres anthony...deals with a lot of univerals absolutes like the first book is about death. The concept of the stories are "What if Death and Fate and life and time were not concepts but job titles and how woudl the people doing those jobs work?" it was an interesting idea. I also recomend "Contest" by Patrick Reilly , even if you dont like SCI FI

"Patrick" Reilly? I think it's Matthew Reilly. But his books are awesome, lots of action. My favourite book of his is 'Temple'
