I agree. There are relevant questions that people have for our age group and the need to share this info is dampened because it is forced off the page almost as soon as it is posted.

As we grow older we have issues that no other group of people have and concerns that we couldn't discuss of other forums because the younger generations wouldn't understand.

Hi Sue,
Thank you for your thoughts and for responding. It is funny, because I frequent another, secular board for the 'light' side of my life, and was hoping to come here to find a deeper discussion, especially since it is difficult to be really understood by people who don't follow Christ.

You are right, this sight is HUGE and I am sure I will veture off to find what I am looking for. I picked this one because I just turned 50, and am going through some mid-life stuff only we can relate to. My post got lost quickly, and only 13 people even viewed it.

I repectfully bow out of this sub-forum, I realize different people are looking for different things. I will keep looking for a better fit for me. Thanks again, and I hope you find good refreshment here from your difficulities. May God teach you and guide you as you go through the tough times in your life.

Hi Juliana,

Firstly Happy Fiftieth Birthday for whenever it was! :) I see your point about some discussion items only being relevant to our age-group, and am sorry you were disappointed with the lack of response to your thread. I have not been on CF for a couple of weeks, as I have had to look for somewhere to live, so I didn't see it. I'll look for it in a moment.

I hope you don't feel unwelcome here. That was not my intention and I am sorry if my post made you feel that way. I hope you do participate in discussions here, but you will probably find that some of us play games as well. People start threads on all sorts of things!

God bless,

Sue

CALLED "GAMES"

I see them as a 're-activating influence'
Memory Stimulation....
yet-another chance to LEARN [for some]

those that COMPLAIN
of, the GE nest's "games"
do-so for various reasons..
ineptitude, not being the least of those reasons
fear of, mis-spelling PERHAPS!

As Jim says: write-up your own topics
and let the rest bounce-off of, you

IOW:

Quit the bellyacheing and denouncing
the fellowship of-others
Quit the attempts to drive-away
regular posters who are...
taking time out to refresh the cobwebs

It is true! that "empty vessels make .........." ????

It is true! that you "USE IT or, else you ..... " ????

How about SETTING... better-example INSTEAD ??????

just a thought in the vein

What issues are you thinking of Radman?
Retirement concerns, health matters, Wills and estate planning, living on a fixed retirement income, leisure time, how some people don't know how to retire, where to invest retirement income............the list can go on and on.

As I and others have said that when something like this is posted it disappears off the page in one day. Also there isn't many men on this forum so that should give people some idea of broadening the subject matter.

If nothing else a totally different sub forum for these issues. Mostly fellowship here, and "retirement concerns" on another forum.

Those are great ideas care to start a thread? Like how do you know when you are ready to retire?
What about people who don't believe in "retirement", and yet are over 50, or 70, and beyond. Are they Welcome here too?, and how?

Hi Juliana

It is understandable that games of mere memory regurgitation, after awhile do get awfully boring, & tiresome.

Yet, have you considered positive Games stimulating your mind creatively...? :) While I've seen few of these here (in this group); yet they are available in rich abundance. Well, they were/are for us - as we are a Homeschooling  family, meaning we enjoy practicing Revisiting questions, generally assumed "answered" - that yet beckon our further explorations...and to many people's amazements, they yield yet more questions, and so forth.

And often, one can find whole new areas of Helpful skills can be learned - and all because GOD designed & created us with an *inquisitive* mind. How Blessed when we use our abilities & potentials for
JESUS' Praise, Honor & Glory
 Enjoy! Julianna  Annie

Again---as I have mentioned the thread will disappear off the main page within a day and will not be viewed by a large majority of current members or new "seniors" browsing.

If nothing else maybe a "sticky" with a title such as "Senior concerns or Senior Questions". That way the thread/subject won't disappear off of the main page in one day but always be there for serious discussion.

I'm not sure just one "sticky" would be sufficient. I think a whole new sub forum would be better with the emphasis on retirement/senior concerns.

For instance the Baby Boomers are the largest retirement group that has come along since WWII. Some will be able to retire but because of new SS regulations the full retirement age increase every year. People that retire right now will probably not have full retirement at age 65. IN three years people that are 65 will have to wait for 67 1/2 to get full benefits. These are some of the concerns that we face as Baby Boomers. That's why a new sub forum should be implemented. .

Hiyah Annie.... When 'members' feel
for, whatever-'reason'
their post is vanishing "out of sight"
They should take a leaf from Tony's book
and 'BUMP' it back up

It is true ALSO...
that OFTEN.. an OP will have 'no-appeal'
AND: because of this, responses may be guarded
[Indeed 'withheld']

The 'sense' that one's post[message]
is being drowned under "rubbish games"
is fuelled
by the members 'suffering'

THERE ARE forums that deal BETTER
with some problems not faced here in the nest
perhaps, put off
[for as long as possible]

When ' I ' "retire" it will be from the world
and to places
the human body cannot reach

So-many Newbies, are-enthralled to have found us
just, as I was ONCE one quiet xmas time
[AND still am]
Why, SEEK TO CHANGE
THAT, which they find here ???

It is what it is ....
and IT still attracts
It, has warmth and fellowship in a common spirit (?)
It is Christian...
Atheists... they, just WONT feel as at-home here

Be at peace, in your-faith
and, just let the rest bounce-off
even, when it is continually bumped-up
[ie: in your face]

Blessings Dear Sister Annie

Dave,
Please, from jumping to 'conclusions' lacking basis in reality, do Free yourself :)

And also, of what Good is telling (assumed) Atheists: "Hey, you are not saved (like our Soul)" -
when yet Emotional, & Physical diseases, & illnesses are (sadly) nigh worshipped,
with evidently too many christians
(sadly) existing contrary to *praising Jesus*.

While Praising  Jesus, via *joyful  practices, including being peaceful*, is what God designed and created us humans for. Hence, the "playing of games, creatively..."
