  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I'm not a Christian but right now, my favorite is "The Passion."

The left behind movies are garbage. That you would even consider them tells me that you have not seen hardly any real Christian movies. They are bottom of the barrel trash.

 THE LIFE OF BRIAN!!!!!!!

What a classic Film!!!!! To appreciate it you really have to be able to laugh at yourself. It's funny how the christian community got upset about the film. Ironically the film is about Brian and not Jesus. People mistook Brian for the messiah. So technically the film is about Brian. The Christian comunity was outraged but dont you think you should be able to laugh at yourselves occassionally and see the funny side. I did!!! The life of Brian does not make fun of christians and that is important to remember. It pokes fun at people who are willing to believe in something (whether it exists or not) at any cost without taking the time to find out whether it true or not. That is what it is about. It uses humour to convey the message because humour is extemeley effective at breaking down barriers and enabling us to see the truth.

Title asks all... I like Left Behind 1 and 2 and Omega Code 1 and 2:) and you?

If you want to see a classic secular British interpretation of what a good chrisitian movie should be like then go and see Monty Python's 'THe life of Brian'. It's brilliant satire and through this one can probably learn about the hidden flaws of christianity as an institution.

I'll agree that they were pretty bad films but I wouldn't quite say it that way... Anyway, my favorites.

The Addiction

Chariots of Fire

Shadowlands

Lord of the Ring Trilogy

Ones to hopefully be added soon.

The Decalogue

The Passion

To End All Wars

Of all the Christian movies that I have seen, the only one that I have thought was thought provoking in the least was "The Last Temptation of Christ." In fact, that movie got me thinking for quite some time afterwards. I can't say that I understand the controversy surrounding it, though. The Jesus depicted in the movie may be depicted as not very divine, but how is that worse than films that depict him as not very human? Besides that complaint, I don't see how the depiction was blasphemous. A lot of it certainly wasn't biblical, yes, but nothing was blasphmous as far as I can see.

Oh, and it had a great soundtrack as well.

Try The Decalogue, that was is supposed to be very impressive. Though, don't take my word for it, read for yourself at Rotten Tomatoes or try The Addiction, while it wasn't lauded by critics, (it garnered very little attention at all) it's very thought provoking nun the less. It's about a philosophy student that gets bit by a vampire. Very thought provoking but not at all pleasant to watch... Very hash and gritty.
