  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

We're still in triple digits every day. We could use the rain some of you all are getting.

We've been having to water our yard that we're trying to re-establish. The Bermuda grass is finally taking over some of the bald spots from the horrible freeze we had this winter. We had no idea that an ice storm could do that much damage and take so long to repair. We're about to do our 3rd seeding and hope to have a fairly nice yard before winter. We finally got a tiny bit of rain today, and we give thanks. It's been staying about 105F in the day and low 80's at night.

We had a week of high heat, humidity and t-storms, but now it has cleared and we are expecting beautiful dry air, sun and temps in the 70's this weekend


Praying for you Kaykay and all in need of relief (rain, etc)

70 and clear. It might get to 90 today.

Yesterday was downright decent. Clear weather and I think it made the low 80s. A light breeze kept it from getting over-warm, and my sister, who is sensitive to excessive heat, was able to go out and get some shopping done.

We've had quite a bit of rain last night and this afternoon. It was so dry that we still have no puddles in the yard, it soaked it right up! It's nice to have lower temperatures, only 80 at 6 p.m.

Thanks, Gail. On the day you posted this, Friday, the area did get some sporadic rain but we need more.

Dog days of summer here. about 102ºF today.

We're the ones getting the rain! Have you been praying for us? It has rained all day yesterday, off and on, and the same today. I was caught in a downpour coming out of the grocery store.
