Weather cool and sunny in North central Florida. Oh Dave no pumpkin pie? Loaded with cool whip on top...yum. Even without cool whip is great. Pumpkin is closer to yams/sweet potatoes. Do you have pumpkins or sweet potatoes there?

Still raining here all-day
and there were signs early this-morning that it had rained overnight also

Yes, we have both Pumpkins and Sweet Potatoes here
While Mary loves them (sweet-potatoes) I dislike them
and, this goes for some potatoes ~they do not all 'taste' alike
this said, I do enjoy Swede and Turnip Mash (occasionally)

I too, enjoy cooking and have not yet (not even once) had anyone report
that they disliked, what was served to them
I do love 'variety' as I have already divulged
and, would not serve others, anything I would not eat

When Mary cooks and eats Lamb's Liver, I won't enter the Kitchen
and more!!! I will keep-closed, the living room door, while keeping ajar the front door
The 'smell' alone, is enough, to upset my tummy
While the smell of someone cooking it, will make Mary feel hungry

We are just too-different, about some 'things'

Has been chilly, but a bit warmer today. I think that umbrella has spread over the whole of NW England. RAIN! (not grumbling though - temps are milder and plants getting a good watering.)

Loved the look of that menu Zippy2! I'm on the next plane! LOL! Watergate salad?! LOL!

Yes indeed Watergate Salad. Google it. It is a very good jello salad! Come on cross the pond for a real Thanksgiving day Feast. I would just love to cook for you guys!

There are some cool silicone bowls with lids (and steam 'valves/vents')
you pop them into boiling water pop the lid onto the pan and go

I just love Christmas Pudding

I used to work in a Jam Factory, (before I signed-up for 9 years, with the army)
and towards the end of Summer, they would make and steam Christmas Puds
Now, you could not steal them (too naughty) but you could eat them

I would regularly eat a half-pounder, or even a one pounder during my morning tea-break
But, one day.... when I had left my lunch on the shelf at-home ~ I went to get a pudding
to find the smaller-ones had all been shipped and all that was available (that day) was the
2lbs size. Well my hunger needed to be satisfied, so I took one and returned to the tea-site
(away from machinery) When 'Dennis' our foreman joined us, His eyes popped-out of his head
to see me tucking-in to this ginormous pudding (like there was not going to be any tomorrow)
He said, "David, if you do not eat it all, I am going to sack you" Well, I found room for it
and left not a single crumb.... everyone in the area clapped... I felt so proud
and FULL (sweet sixteen)

Mum always had a cooked tea on the table
for when 'the man of the house' came home from work \o/

My Dad, who had worked ten and a half tears at the same factory
had left them, because of health problems that were rooted in his war wounds

When the folks at the factory spoke about me, it was, as "Johnny's Boy"
My first weeks wages, was just £13, but I soon got that up to £70 - £80 with overtime
The money was worth-more back then
soon we'll need a wheelbarrow, to carry the same value around

No kidding. My daughter was trying to buy a new car. FORGET IT. They cost as much as a HOUSE used to cost for pete's sake! She's going to have to wait and save more and then buy used.

Just the way I expressed-it

We bought our's for $600 (equivalent) >> 2001, 5-door hatchback, saloon
It had a few bumps and scrapes [by the one and only previous owner]
and the offside doors (front and rear) had been replaced
from a scrapped similar model but slightly darker colour, but it has
almost 'flown-through' THREE annual safety certificate examinations
needing only bits and pieces to ensure it did so (nothing major at-all)

ie: very much of a bargain

Besides, who needs a 'flash' ROLLS ROYCE

Footage has emerged from Colorado, US of a blizzard sweeping across a major road. The video, filmed on November 18 on I70 by the Keystone Exit, shows the snow storm making driving conditions treacherous.
