well, then you might want to read to those who know about Islam, if you really want to learn

I'm not bothered by your opinion about Islam not being a violent religion, but by the fact that you admitted to knwoing "almost nothing" about Islam and yet rush to call it a religion of peace!!!

you remind me of president Bush when he says "Islam means peace" !!! :D

I would like to learn from those who actually practice the religion not from someone who is presenting a very biased view. And I said almost nothing:) , i do know a little. And i really dont see how it would bother you that I admitted that i knew very little, at least I admitted to it.....I make my judgments on the people of Islam, they are not violent as a whole. That is how I can say it is peacful in that the only Muslims that go around being violent are the extremeist and the terrorists. The little bit I know is this, I know that they beleive in a hell that all non-Muslim swill go to. I know Mahummad was the founder and a prophet. I know they see Jesus also as a prophet but not as the Son of God like Christians do. I dont know very much about there beleifs in specific, but I do know that they are not violent as a whole as you say becasue there are alot of Muslims here in the U.S......it doesnt take a rocket scientist to see peoeple of another faith and see that they are not violent. It seemed to me by your argument that you were trying to imply that all Muslims are violent and that is very obvoisly not the case(unless i mistook you)....one doesnt have to know the religon or the Quran to see that.

Blessings,

So we're fanatics just because we believe that non-Christian religions are lies and are of the Devil? The Bible says that there is only one way to Heaven and that is through Jesus Christ. I happen to believe that.

That is usually the perception ingrained in beleivers when they are drawn into the church scene after their salvation. I was there in my 20's as well, but I realize that Jesus himself never condemned people like so many Christians do.... Oh, wait, he DID condemn the self righteous RELIGIOUS leaders who thought they had it all figuered out and their way was so righteous ~ all other ways were blasphemy (Including Christs radical teachings that blew away their intolerant legalism, and his acceptance of sinners)

I've seen a lot of bashing on these forums but also some good learning. Christians should also learn from others for even Jesus said the children of this world are sometimes wiser than the children of light.

Jesus also said this:
"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." John 14-6

True, and he also says in Matthew 25 that if a person feeds the hungry, clthes the naked, visits the sich & in prison, they have done it unto him. They have ministered to Christ and hence have received him by helping those people from their hearts. Its the secondary salvation way which STILL has Jesus as the "way" but from a different angle. Also, its not about "works" being performed to earn salvation. that is not the way. People who help others from their heart because its there by the spirit (As revealed in Romans where the gentiles who have not the law see the law of God in nature) these people are following in "the way" of Christ.

It's either works or it's not works. Anything that I do that anyone would consider good is because of God working through me to "will and to do of His good pleasure" In and of myself, I'm a scumbag. My righteousness is as "fithy rags" to God. Salvation is all of Jesus Christ, it's not even a choice, it's a free gift, it's GRACE. Ye must be born again, period. You can do all the nice things you could ever even imagine and it's all "filthy rags"

Isaiah 64:6 "But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away."

Its actually works by faith as it says in James. Doing works alone to try to earn salvation isn't the way, because such acts are as filthy rags, absolutely. Salvation is a free gift. Check that out though: FREE GIFT, GIVEN BY GOD, not us. So why do so many PEOPLE try to pick and choose who they think is "worthy" of that free gift? I know many who proffess Christ but their hearts actions say otherwise....
