I've been feeling quite down for a while idk. Like what is the point anymore. Idk it is hard to explain but what is the purpose of this life and then heaven? Not only that but I don't feel a connection to god? I wanna believe but I just don't know. There is just so many questions on my mind man. Maybe Its just now and Ill find him someday but when? Does god not care about me? I wouldn't blame him not like I'd serve a purpose for him anyways. Another thing that bothers me is his rules. Don't do this don't do that why do put all of this stuff in front of me. Almost 80% of his rules are fun and pleasurable yet he doesn't want me doing them. maybe Im asking for to much. All I want is somethinf to know he is here. Yet nothing. Maybe Im supposed go to hell because of that predestination thing. If so then why make me at all is that my only purpose? I dont know man... Really loaded question I guess... Sorry for my rant and rambling. Anyone here willing to help?
What is the purpose of life? To glorify God by loving and enjoying Him forever. This is why God made you. Anything else you may aim yourself at is not what you were made for. Nothing else will really satisfy you but to live in line with God's purpose for you. You see, you don't exist for yourself. Like everything else in the universe, you were made for and to serve God. The universe isn't about us but about Him.
You don't feel a connection to God? Why would you when you are not living in line with the purpose for which He made you? In fact, the Bible says that as you are now, you have made yourself God's
enemy. If you want this to change, you're going to have to submit your life to your Creator and let Him have the steering wheel of your life. God didn't make you to run the show yourself.
When will you find God? When you search for Him with all your heart. When you are willing to come to God on
His terms rather than your own.
Jeremiah 29:13
13 And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.
James 4:8-10
8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
9 Lament and mourn and weep! Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom.
10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.
Does God not care about you? He cares so much for you that He died on a cross for you so that you might be reconciled to Him and live the life for which He made you! God cares for you more than anyone else!
1 John 4:9-10
9 In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him.
10 In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the payment for our sins.
You don't like God's rules? Well, here's the thing: the rules exist to protect you and to put you in a place where God can bless you. God isn't affected one bit if you disobey His rules. But you are. And one day, if you live a life that continues to reject God and His rules, you will find yourself standing before your Maker, not to be welcomed into His kingdom, but to be judged and punished with an eternity without Him in darkness and pain.
God doesn't tell us not to have fun. He
made fun! But He wants us to have boundaries and guidelines for our fun. He knows that without these boundaries and guidelines we quickly go too far and indulge in things in ways that cause harm to us and others. As I said, God is giving you protection by putting down rules by which to live.
You want to know God is there? Evidence for Him is all around you. Creation itself, the Bible says, proclaims the glory and power of God. But men suppress the innate knowledge of God that they possess and that is confirmed in Creation.
Romans 1:18-21
18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness,
19 because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them.
20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse,
21 because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened.
God isn't hiding from you; perhaps you are hiding from Him.
You've been predestined to go to hell? Maybe you've been predestined to go to heaven! How can you tell? Some of the very worst people - murderers, rapists, thieves - have become children of God. You can't tell, then, just by looking at the character of your life whether or not you're predestined to salvation. Really, predestination is only a useful truth
after you've been saved. It helps to secure a believer in their faith. But before you're saved it only muddies and confuses things. No one knows before they are saved if they are predestined or not, so fussing about it is pointless.
Selah.
