Ladies,

what's the first thing you are going to do when you find out you are pregnant? (Other than tell the hubby of course;))

Me? The first thing I'm going to do is buy some of those little tiny white baby socks. They're so cute those socks.
With my last pregnancy I was all conservative and didn't buy anything in the first trimester...and then I was overseas...and then it was too late. But this time, I'm going straight down to the mall and buying me some of those socks!:D

I love those socks...

I'm actually not going to tell hubby right away. The last two times he almost refused to even believe we ever were pg, because I lost them both right away. So I decided to just get into the doctor asap and make sure the baby is still there before I tell him.

The very first thing I'll do is probaby take about 3 tests - just to make sure :) - then I'll sit down and cry my eyes out - and thank God over and over. It will be an interesting time in my house when that happens - anyone that would happen to come by, will think that I have lost it. :)

I'll probably call the dr right away and get in asap - they can usually get me in the same day. Then I've been thinking of planning a picnic with DH to tell him. We absolutely won't tell anyone else for at least a month.

And then, yep, shopping!! :) I can't wait to buy some of those cute little outfits!!

The first thing I'll do is thank God through lots of tears. I think I'll pause and take a moment, just me with my pregnant tum and cherish the moment of discovering the miracle, then I'll burst with joy and tell my husband and probably dance around, jumping about with happiness.

StealingHeaven, I know what you mean! I'm looking forward to that precious moment when it's just me and the baby.:D I used to get so annoyed that we have to wait two weeks to find out if we're pregnant (and it is annoying) but then it occurred to me that those two weeks are like that for God. It's just God and the baby.:holy: I think that's sweet.

I like the picnic idea Jenrenee. I've been thinking of using one I heard on the pregnancy forum. Getting DH a beer, and sticking a little note that says 'I'm pregnant' on the bottom so that he sees it when he's drunk it.

nursemommysc, I'm glad to hear I'm not alone about all that little stuff!

I've never thought of it that way. It puts Psalm 139 in a whole new light.

You know I didn't think of that, but that it a lovely though, that for 2 weeks it's just God and the baby, maybe that thought will make it more bearable to get through those 2 week waiting periods, I hope and pray none of us here have too many of those 2 week waiting periods!

God bless

The first thing I do after telling my husband will be to thank God for the miracle. After that, I'll call my mom. After that, go house hunting (if we haven't started already). My baby will need room to play! But I don't think I can bring myself to go shopping for baby stuff until after the first trimester.

It's funny, because the reason I'm going to go shopping straight away is the same reason as the reason you're going to wait until the end of the first trimester...isn't it amazing how we all react in different ways.

So true. I don't want to "count my chickens" too early.

^_^ For some reason my first reaction to reading that was; so he is nice and tipsy when he reads it? :p JK

I like the 'planning something special to tell hubby' idea . I'm thinking some kind of picnic or walk along the Kangaroo Point cliffs.

Dare to dream...
