What is the difference between Chuch of Christ and United Church of Christ?

Typically the Church of Christ is very conservative/fundamentalist whereas the United Church of Christ tends to be more progressive liberal/moderate/lib conservative. Many Church of Christ locations also seem to be nondenominational whereas the UCC is a denomination.

Also, the Church of Christ does not allow, in most cases, instruments to be played during service...I am assuming everything is accapela?

The United Church of Christ has everything from gospel to traditional choir/piano/organ to contemporary christian music and what not being played during service/worship.

Broadly speaking, the Churches of Christ are part of the Stone-Campbellite restoration movement. Historically, this is very different than the coming together of the UCC. Apart from the similiarity in mane, they have little to do with each other.
