• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

That's a very hard question (one I've thought of myself many times ;) )! I guess the only way you personally will know, is if you make some positive changes in your life and see how you feel afterwards. If your depressed mood lifts when the changes are made then you will know which one you are. Sometimes the two go hand in hand. The person who is depressed because they need to make some changes in their life, sometimes need meds. to help them through the bad time so they can get themselves to a place where they can think straight, move forward, start taking control of their life and make the necessary changes. No one can change our lives but ourselves! Hugs to you

whats the difference between being just a screwed up person who is unhappy and perhaps would be better off taking some meds versus someone who needs to make real changes? The latter person who perhaps should feel depressed...which one am I?
Ultimately there is no real difference because they will both have to humble themselves and go thru spiritual maturity in Christ.

If there is a difference it would be that the "screwed up" person will have to understand themselves first. This means it might be tougher to overcome the condition, but they will have more depth of understanding than second person. Overcoming that mental problem along with strong spiritual maturity, can be an awesome light house for those who suffer after them.

For yourself, could you give a brief description of your situation? Don't worry sister, we all have problems.

Ok, now the follow up question is. What is the common thread that connects everything you listed there? Why do you hate them all?

I am not sure your age, but once you are 18. You are free to live on your own. Have to work hard and pay your own bills, but that is a good thing.
