one of the things i like to do is astral projection. whats the christian view on astral projection aka out of body experience? for me its a way to explore reality.

Paul seems to mention such a thing.

I am, what many would call a born-again, evangelical (fundamentalist) Christian.

I'm sure that I have had vision-like expereinces that I would feel qualify as "out of body" expereinces.

I don't think they have any baring on the Christian life, but I'm not saying that they don't exist. Why would a "fundamentalist" do that?

Here's something from Paul of Tarsus, another fundamentalist:

I must go on boasting. Although there is nothing to be gained, I will go on to visions and revelations from the Lord.

I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago was caught up to the third heaven. Whether it was in the body or out of the body I do not know—God knows.

And I know that this man—whether in the body or apart from the body I do not know, but God knows— was caught up to paradise.

He heard inexpressible things, things that man is not permitted to tell. I will boast about a man like that, but I will not boast about myself, except about my weaknesses . . .

I guess the question, is Did God give us the ability to leave the body(and we just are not informed of its proper usage), or Did Satan modify God's design of us to allow it ?

I'm not sure about that. The only cases when I read or hear about the soul separated from the body in a christian (or would be christian) is NDE's or a specific vision from god showing heaven or hell or a particular thing the person needed to be shown.

and the only cases I've read about separation of soul and body (astral projection) in non-christians are satanists or witches who after gained this power by rituals and/or eating human body parts or the like, their souls leave the body and goes into the spirit realm above the earth, and cause all kinds of havoc, especially and targeting mostly christians.

I believe tho, that this is a demonic activity and we are not to actively meddle with it or pursue it.
