  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I agree with you over all, however I do not agree that all baptisms are the same.

For example, a baby being baptized I do not feel is the one that matters. It may be a symbol of the parents will to give the child over to God, but that takes free will out of the picture.

I believe the baptism that "counts" is the one done by ones own free will of understanding the choice they are making and the world they are laying down for that choice. (To say in action, I die to my will to make way for God's)

That said, I do not believe even the act of baptism (in earthly water) saves as only the blood shed by Jesus saves. Baptism (in water) is simply the symbolic act to show the world that choice that it (the world) no longer has right/authority over you (even if the reality if being free from the world is still long ways off) still important to do, but not the end all be all of salvation.

As far as video games being sin.... let each person be convinced in their own minds.

Jesus did not play video games, but He most certainly DID allow Himself entertainment and fun. We already know He attended parties and festivals through whst is said in the Bible. Are we to think that He sat in a corner unhappy and bored?

Yes, He didnt sin in His entertainment, but I doubt seriously Jesus did nothing but walk around bored and miserable.

Jesus was a kid, as a kid He no doubt played like a kid. Being without sin however meant that though He played like a child, He obeyed His earthly parents even though they were imperfect.

Even when the children were climbing on Jesus. He didnt say "calm down and do not be children".

Video games are no worse or better than anything else in this world. It is simply were they or anything hold a place in our heart. If we put its value above God. (If you have 8 hours of free time a day, spend 7.5 hours playing video games or whatever else... then 20 mins doing something else then 10 or less in the word or even thinking 9r meditating on the Father... you have to ask what is it you truly value in this world and do you (honestly) put it above God.

If you dont put anything before God then you are good with God.

It doesnt matter that you love food, but if its place in your heart is above God- sin.

Entertainment above God- sin.

You pursue money more than you pursue God- sin

Etc because all of these things above God are idolatry. You dont have to bow before it and worship it in the traditional way to make it an idol.

If you have no idol be it food, money, lust of flesh, power, entertainment... etc. and instead pursue the Father and His kingdom first.... how would the Father NOT be pleased with your heart having nothing and no one before Him in it?

But if one is convicted to avoid something such as video games... let them listen to their convictions and do not condemn them for doing so.

What is freedom for one may be destruction for another.

Omm: days off should be lengthened to make up for work time inflation.

For example... a day off feels like it passes swiftly. A day at work takes forever to end.
So, days off should be expanded to compensate.

So if your work day of say 8 hours feels like you worked 72... your day off should instead of being 24 hours should be 72

And I suppose you want an increase in minimum wage to help the lower-income folk, too, huh? =P

No, that's a useless and hollow dog and pony show to make it appear like government gives a dogs behind about human life.

Given you bring it up...... IF the goal is to help lower income folks, the BEST way is to give employers incentives to pay employees more, not make it a legal baseline that all must follow.

If all you do is force a base pay level and raise it, you simply make the price of everything go up because the companies are NOT going to simply eat the cost of their new forced payroll.

Raising minimum wage has always been seen by me as a joke and wate of time.

$20 an hour is meaningless if it cost 80 for a cheese burger.

I'm just tired of the week being soooo long and my weekends being so short they feel nonexistent. ... I need a vacation...

I will have to say.. it can be hard being a left leaning anti-sjw. So much nuance you have to walk through, and so many who will hate you on both sides of the political spectrum.. lol.

-My parents think I have too many Pokemon plushies...but I like them.

-Sometimes I think I'd be better off only using basic shapes and not the "skeletons" when drawing humans. When I use them the proportions are off and I have to fix them, and it makes drawing them from the side difficult.

-I'm starting to work on something new.

Yes, thank you. People who are so partisan that they would imply in the least that their President - no matter who we're talking about here - is anywhere remotely akin to God by putting him in the same context as "trust God". I mean, with the rest of the message, and the picture there of his face above the ark, that's what the writer really seems to be implying. Did the Israelites look at even King David that way, for instance?

Please continue to pray for Southernscotty, everyone. It makes me so sad to see someone going through so much. -->

Dads Birthday

Oh, crap, that's right. I checked up on him maybe a month or so after he first announced the tragedy, and then soon afterward I admit that I had completely forgotten about it. Poor guy. That has to be one of the worst things to see for yourself. Thank you for bringing this to our attention, Miss Multi.

I found some diaries a while ago and they were all about how miserable I was in middle school and high school. I threw them away.

Good Sunday morning, everyone!

Guess what I found yesterday? A little stuffed leopard that I had when I was a baby! I bet it was the first plushie I ever had. It was so cool to find that, I had not seen it since I was a baby! (Actually, the only reason I recognize it is because I've seen baby pictures of myself with it.)
