You know, it's interesting.
The longer I walk with Christ the less focused on Heaven I get. But I don't believe that's a good thing. After coming to the knowledge that yes, I would one day be in Heaven with God and fellow saints forever, it was basically one of the main things on my mind, and I was edified greatly. But as time goes on I'm seeming to forget my roots partially, and instead filling my mind with worries and cares of this life. Not fully of course, but a very large portion size full. Even though the path I am on is Christ focused, and even the worries themselves not without a sense of God, the reality is that I've allowed partially the world's cares get into my mind and rob me of some of my joy. In some ways I've treated salvation as a "Ok, I have that, now it's time to help others" when in reality God wants his children to soak in their salvation daily. It was not a light thing to be saved, it was not a "grab this ticket and go", it was God's ultimate act of grace towards beings whom did nothing to earn or deserve it through works. It was God saying "I want you in my family for all time", chosen by him and not our own choosing.
Anyway I know we all have different theologies of what salvation looks like, if one can lose it, etc. but I think everyone can relate to this a bit. We're forgiven, and that should be one of our main focuses, and focusing on the joy that lies ahead and not current sorrow.
