  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I type "2017 merry christmas anime" into Google image search, and as far as the eyes can see nothing comes up but girls in skimpy santa suits wishing you a merry christmas, so, you see the gender preference there with the Japanese when it comes to anything Christmas. =P

Asking for prayers for my brother. He was down for Christmas and like always we discuss and debate things (respectfully of course), specifically religion. Anyway this past year he has been looking into Christianity more and more, he used to identify as an atheist but now he's distanced himself from that label as he is becoming more and more open minded towards God and while not believing he also does not have a strong of an opinion as he did before. Recently Mormons came to his door and while he believes their religion is bogus (and I confirmed to him it was and explained why), something good did come from it as they gave him a Bible (kjv) and his mind is currently drawn towards learning a lot about Christianity. He said he was going to start reading the Bible some and I tried to reccommend places in there that might ease him into it vs. things that he might stumble with.
So I'm asking for prayers that God continues to draw him closer and that my brother's heart gets softened more and his mind does aswell. He's a lot like me in many ways and pursues truth.

I just did the wishbone tradition. Funny outcome.

We were having a turkey with my sister and her boyfriend and my mother makes us do the wishbone thing. My sister's boyfriend comments how he never wins those and my mother also mentioned how I never win it either. So she pits us up against each other and be both pull only for the middle part to go flying straight up in the air leaving us both the losers.

Should I be worried about this being a bad omen?
