  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

in prison I would prefer solitary confinement to the barbaric ways of some of the people in that place. I already had my fill of how criminals deal with others.

other souls are nice but God is better though I find God in people all the time so that's a relief.

I built a grappling dummy this weekend, it was a lot of work but it paid off, learned a few moves already. Also, pray for me guys, I have to go to a play testing event with a group of game makers tonight, I really hope to get some networking done. Given the state of the game and the feedback I have been getting, I'm trying to be more careful who I show it to.

It's really interesting how Satan will attempt to assault my ability to be grateful. This past week I have felt very grateful for family and friends that have made me feel loved, and I also know I should be feeling grateful for my job. But right now, the week of Thanksgiving, I worked until 12:30 last night and was back at it this morning and it will most likely be a 12-hour day.

And I just came across a picture on Facebook showing pretty much every 20-something in my church who is single getting together for a Thanksgiving meal yesterday. The entire group is people I play trivia with on Monday nights as well. One thing I learned when I was in campus ministry is that you serve other people by not being exclusive when it comes to social events. Then I transferred to a private university and I saw social exclusivity all the time. It really bugs me in general, but it is especially sucky when you are the one excluded.

I guess it's true what Scripture says. Out of the mouth come both blessings and curses.

A depressing truth, however. Perhaps that verse was aimed specifically at us who already believe, even, and not those whose evils are not yet covered by blood. To remind believers that they are in many senses no better than others (the only true difference is they are forgiven), so they had best keep a bridle on their tongues and not speak in pride.

Science in itself today is suspect.... its not about a search of truth but a bias "study" on how you can distort or over look facts to support your hypothesis. Its no longer about going in with a theory and letting the facts speak for themselves. Its about finding, whatever it is those funding the "studies" want you to find.

I want truth, not a paid for advertisement disguised as truth. To me the theory of evolution has more holes in it than a colander, but to each their own as long as both groups seek truth there is an openness to accept what is found, thats what matters.

Nah, the evil is still in the world. It just means one less vessel housing it. The world is fallen and will house the same amount of evil until the end. Sadly all it means is one more was thrown into the pit (unless he found and walked with the Lord truly changed)

Sure he deserved it, but we all do....

Of course my fleshly response is "Wont see me shedding a tear" but in spirit I cant celebrate one thrown into the pit as its exactly where I would be destined if not for grace and mercy.

Amen. Blessed are those who show mercy, for they will be shown as such.

Actually that specific example was kind of what I was referring to when I wrote the depressing statement earlier that out of even believers' tongues come both blessings and curses. And upon recalling that statement it made me recall a number of times that I myself have been guilty of at first giving a word of encouragement or even affection to someone, but then cursing another in the very same day, wishing a certain kind of bad luck upon him/her. Absolutely unacceptable standard for a knight, in my personal eyes. God willing i will not commit that particular sin ever again.

It kind of reminds me of an episode of Rupert Bear where the professor invents a pocket watch that can speed up time. He accidentally leaves it on the ground near a tree and the Earth's rotation speeds up so much that the locals have to rush to do everything before the day quickly ends.
