  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Horrible day at work...so much anxiety and so many negative thoughts...then came home to my kitty Luigi spitting up a little bit of blood. I completely lost it...thank God my best friend stopped by on his way home. He helped me calm down and comforted Luigi (poor kitty hid under my bed because mommy was crying so hard).

Right now, all is finally quiet. Luigi spit up a few more times, but no more red...I guess his stomach was just really upset. I'm okay for now....

Wow, that must have been hard on you. A bad day at work just to come home to your cat having problems. I hope your cat is OK and it's just a minor scratch. More importantly, I hope you're OK right now. I know life is stressful for you and you deserve all the prayers we can give you.

Stay strong, Squeakers, and try to relax and recollect yourself.

Thanks, Wayholka. I'm trying my best to relax and let things go. Easier said than done, but at least I'm calm right now.

Thanks, Tony.

It would appear that things really are not going well for either of you right now. :( I will remember to pray for you both, Squeakers and Someone's Angel.

Take heart in this in particular, Squeakers. You said previously that you have lost another friend. I hope that does not remain permanently so, but in anything it would appear you have at least one friend left in your physical social circle who is willing to go the mile for you, as indicated by your saying he stopped by and comforted both you and your cat. :)

So society is embracing a racist book and consider themselves to be moralistically and intellectually superior to anyone believing in God? because over 2000 years ago in OT times were pretty brutal...... Good to know.

Darwinism always just seemed too stupid for me to REALLY get into so thanks for the info. Even when I was an atheist me coming from a monkey still wasn't believable. Even IF genetics are close......... H20 (water) and H2O2 (hydrogen peroxide) are only one atom different and yet one is vital to life and the other in high concentrations can kill you.

Sometimes even the little differences make all the difference in the world.

I think it's good practice to think critically about it, though. Not everything about Darwinism is untrue or counter to the Christian worldview. More than anything some of the conclusions that have been drawn from it are in opposition to Christianity, like the idea that one race might be superior to another. I think where most people go wrong is in attempting to claim that the natural world is all there is. If that's the case, there is really no comfort for the suffering because it is just "survival of the fittest" playing itself out.

Introvert or not, very few can live in total isolation. If you are part of that few, then you have Schizoid Personality Disorder. I know you're lonely and struggling with being on the move and I wish I could help in some way. Just know that God is with you and one day you'll be in a place where you will not feel that loneliness anymore while still being able to retreat to your Heavenly mansion for some alone time.

I myself believe in evolution but certainly not racism. I used to be a creationist but the way my logic is ends up allowing me to accept evolution as the most plausible scenario.

mainstream science is already at times a kind of religion. I started seeing this when I see how mainstream science types tend to reject alternate scientific povs though I admit that science is not my cup of tea.

I read a long but good article about an autistic dude that one day just decided to go off into the wild and be in isolation. at night he would break into peoples cabins to steal food and whatever else he needed. they ended up thinking it was a ghost doing it. he did this for years and years before he was caught and sent to jail for a few years. the poor guy does not seem to like being around people much at all but I was happy that he let someone interview him.

it's so hard to survive with no other humans. nearly impossible. it feels like there is no escape from being a creature one way or the other.

You'll find that most people have their own way of 'winning' at life. Nazis and KKK members believe they're superior just for being born white. Many Aspies believe they're superior for being able to think more logically than neurotypicals who make no sense to them. Many artists/musicians/writers/athletes/intellectuals/whatever believe they're superior for having a talent that others miss out on. It all boils down to pride and unfortunately Christianity doesn't deliberately appeal to an increasingly narcissistic world's desire for pride. Life becomes a race where those who die with the most toys wins. After they die, what did it all achieve in the end? Christianity teaches that in order to succeed in another spiritual life, you have to make sacrifices in this current material world. Humanity in general tends to focus on the here and now rather than what could be.

I have heard that we share 50% of our DNA from bananas. We're possibly committing cannibalism by eating a banana split! :p

Those on the spectrum tend to be on the introverted side due to problems with social interaction and a preference for their own special interests. Eventually, they're going to want to have social interaction by the time they're teenagers or adults. As a child, I was pretty content playing the PlayStation and surfing the net instead of playing with other kids in the streets. Once I got older, I started to feel the need for social interaction and now feel like I've wasted my childhood.

Humans are naturally very social creatures. Isolation usually breaks a person and that's why solitary confinement in prison can really harm a prisoner. When you look at certain animals like birds and dogs, they are capable of self harm when kept in isolation for too long. The birds would pluck their own feathers and the dogs would lick a part of their bodies until it was nothing but bare skin. One study on monkeys showed that when a monkey was raised in isolation, they socialized very poorly when placed with other monkeys and even abuse or murder their own offspring.

No man is an island. It's just that some can handle isolation longer than others.

humans have gotten pretty good at the co-operation of survival in the world as creatures and it is a needed thing. sadly most things have their pros and cons. I have heard that if the US $ was greatly devalued it could end up helping out poorer countries. I know that in some ways capitalism has helped poor folks and I know in some ways it hurts them.

I really feel for everyone in general because though i know there could be better ways of living I admit that i feel no great love or unity in being able to create alternative ways of living. but I hate being trapped in how the world is structured. I feel that even in families we often become too separated.
