  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Is it hard to get a book published? Been looking at Lulu, but also worry about copyright protection.

Everyone, if I may ask for your prayers that everything will be okay when I go to meet my friends in Chattanooga late tomorrow (or today, i guess, since it is now past midnight). You see, on a very clumsy mistake of mine I have inconvenienced them quite a bit, even though of course I did not mean to, and I think they are pretty upset with me, going by their texts that they sent when they realized I could not be there at the proper place and time for them today even though originally - when planning this trip in the first place - I said that I would. I got dates confused somehow and now they had to go on without me after waiting for a long time for me when i could not be there, also costing one of them a few hundred dollars to rent a means of getting to Chattanooga where the intended yearly meeting place is, as out of all of us my car is the only one really at all sizable or well-running enough to make such a long trip safely and comfortably. I offered to pay that person back who had to rent a car spontaneously on account of my absence, as it is was because of my mistake, however unintentional, but he has not replied back yet. So I think they are still pretty angry about my screw-up. I must pray that everything will be taken in stride once I join them tomorrow and my apology will be accepted without any kind of further tension, and I ask that you all pray so for my sake as well. But also that, in case any one of them does choose to give me a hard time about it, that I will just be able to take it on the chin and not lash out defensively in any way, as that has always only made things worse.

What makes you say that?

I'm more in the center. I tried both ends of the political spectrum and I find them to be dangerous extremes.
