  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Apparently the name of the speech impediment where one cannot pronounce their "Rs" is called rhotacism.

Someone had a cruel sense of humor on that one.
Oh my word! XD

Thank you for the tip

Usually I have no problem with interviews, I've conducted interviews myself as well. I just didn't like the method of not actually conversing with a real person, but rather just recording yourself on video to a timer limit to a text question. Terrible method IMO. I've never done one like this before, just wasn't comfortable with it.

Good luck on finding change as well, may God open a new door for you

Id take the issue to God.... however with music as with any art its more important to get it out there and keep it out there than it is to study the crap out of it.

I have been seeking His guidance on this for a couple of weeks now and a lot seems to be pointing towards it at the moment

That's true - the good thing about this course is its involved - you get to study for example 8-10 various genres of music, learning what makes up the structure of each, learning theory, individual instrument lessons, you get to play at venues with groups made up with other students, learn recording and setting up, plus also assessments such as composing & recording your own music, as well as covering originals. It's designed to set you up to enter life as a musician after, rather then just sitting in a class full time studying.

English TV presenter Jonathan Ross suffers from this, which means that he can't pronounce his own name.

Huh, that's defiantely something I don't have. I love long words, I remember being very excited my senior year of high school when I got to use the word antidisetablishmentarianism in an essay.

So, I'm at my buddy's house for a few days. We're going to work on website stuff. This morning he told me he went to use the bathroom in the middle of the night and I said to him, "The Italians are going to make you a great offer on your coffee table," then gave off a funny laugh, and then was out. I'm still laughing over this.

Choices, choices, choices... debating on moving in with my aunt and uncle this summer to a different province to give myself an easier go at things... but if I do that I'll miss out on the opportunity I now have of going to school in September for Computer Programming here in this province (something I really want to do, and I already am enrolled and accepted and have my seat guaranteed and paid for)... going to school would be risky in a sense on my part but it would be so worth it if I ended up being able to finish.
And then there's this dream I had a few years back which was (I'm 90-95% sure) from God and it showed me some things, the content therein which is not entirely clear yet but it definitely implied moving in with my aunt and uncle at some point, but the exact point in time is one of the parts that is not clear... I've already lived with them since having the dream and things didn't work out, so yeah dunno...

Are there any courses you can do while living there? Or even online? It would be worth it if you could find a way to do both. If not, I'd say jump into the programming opportunity. That will set you up for your future big time. All the jobs and everything are going towards computers.

That's tough, @CodyFaith . That's definitely something to pray and ask God about. It sounds like a choice to me, like those forks in the road. Seek His guidance - you can never go wrong with that!

I don't think there are computer programming courses are the college level there. I'd have to look into other career choices, but really I've thought long and hard on that one and there's not much, if anything at all, that interests me.
Online courses wouldn't be a good match for me personally, I don't think I'd have the ability to learn things like that online - not enough grounding for me.

The more I think about it the more I'm telling myself do not miss this opportunity haha...
