  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I've seen Star Wars.

On that same note. I remember watching a news program (around the time that book was popular) and a father seeing a slave Leia toy at the store. He got really offended and started complaining about it. In the 80s it might have been taken more lighthearted but not now, lol.

Oh that's good!
Lots of my students went home sick the final week of school before Christmas. I would tell them that they should be happy it's happened before Christmas and not on the day. So by the end of the week, I had one girl go home with a stomach flu and she high fived me on the way out with her mom. LOL! It was rather unexpected but made me laugh a bit.

That was meant in jest, mostly, in case you missed the reference.

It doesn't surprise me though. I could make a pretty good case for a significant portion of christianity having reverted to the "pattern" of the world that originally persecuted the christians of the first few centuries after Christ. It sort of makes you wonder, if it's true that "christians" are like everyone else, what is or was christianity really?
