I couldn't visit her one last time, and golly, I wish I could have, but she was in another state and the trip was just not possible. Thankfully I myself have never had to go through that particular scenario when it comes to death of a friend, at least not one in my inner circle who is close to my own age and likely shares most interests and all, but I imagine it is no easier than seeing a family member or spouse off to the grave.
There have always been Catholic women who have worn the mantilla, and recently it has enjoyed a great resurgence among young women. If anything, it seems to me like they're more popular now than they've been at any point in my lifetime.
I do agree completely: head-covering is not a bad word.
I have also noticed that headcovering has enjoyed a great resurgence among Chrisitian women. Often it is teen girls setting the example and getting the movement started too. Good for them. Young Catholic women do have the power to change what the church looks like.
