CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I am thinking about the weekend and am really excited as I am planning to spend some time writing. I am going to turn off my phone and unplug the TV. I am going to flick the switch on computer to turn off my modem and just let the story that I so wanting to write come out. Actually I may write the ideas for a couple of stories and so then I can work on filling in the blanks later.

Here's a poem i just found by john crossley
The release
It was so still that day
and cold: the hills
brown shoulder to shoulder
seemed too old
to recall
when the slam of a hammer
on the vile nails
rang through those high lands
But suddenly
the sound ceased
and seamless as Christ’s brown robe
all the leaves of the forest fell quietly;
and the injured one rose up
freed of his grave clothes.

just wanted to share something i just found that i wrote a long time ago.

The chambered nautilus, the homing pigeon, the way of the tomato and it's keen shadowed scent.
[/FONT] [FONT="]For the barnacle and the oyster husk who hides her luster; holds her kernel cupped in cragg-palms, clenched from ravages of the sea.

[FONT="]The royal Guard of chastity, like a relic housed in muscle...a hidden white-hot star[/FONT]
[FONT="] wholly innocent.
I am thankful for the cotton and the snow. The lonely drifts and the white-gray curtains. The silence of feathers falling, filling up the woods at night. The froth on window panes and the ghost-frost swirls on asphalt corners. For the shelter and the fire and the safety of each snapping ember.[/FONT]
[FONT="]The golden ale behind the glow, the crust of bread sopped in stew.

What's on my mind? I'm guessing you're asking in writer-related terms. =)
Today I'm staying up all day to go to the Renaissance Festival here in Missouri...mostly because I'm in a desperate need of a change of scenery. The thought in the back of my mind is that this might jumpstart my imagination a bit to start seriously writing like a real writer. I don't make my living at it, but it's a way I spend time with Jesus...and it's my therapy...and it's my favorite alone time...and so many other things.
That's the main things on my mind at the current moment, along with so many tangents and subthoughts that grow out from this main thought, and into it. =)
I've also been thinking a lot about NaNoWriMo, and what I'm going to write about in Novemeber this year. I'm really excited because I'm going to really give it my best to try and win this year (as I have yet to win so far!) and I'm getting a head start to maybe help myself out.

How I'm not looking forward to the fall and winter, because I know my Seasonal Affective Disorder will act up. I'm not looking forward to going to the doctor, either, because I have a lot of things to bring up and I really don't know how he'll react to any of it. I don't want to be at work right now. I'd rather be outside, in the fall sunshine.
That's what's on my mind right now.

I'm thinking about how cloudy it is outside right now, and I'm hoping it'll rain like crazy today.
I'm also thinking about how I only want to do two things today (well, after my date with my hubby!)...and that's clean and write. I have this annoying feeling that I may not get to either of those things today for some reason though. But I will not lose hope!
