i received this message as God spoke to me about my life and why im having the problems that i am, and i hope it blesses you...

in 1 john 3.9
the bible says that sin is overcome in us becuase the SEED REMAINS in us. its incorruptible, if the seed remains in us, we have the victory over sin.

but i think the seed doesnt remain in everyone, it does in some people, but not everyone i think its determined by how we live. becuase sin isnt defeated in everyones life. we have to protect the seed God imparts into our lives.

in matthew 13.18-23
Jesus tells the parable of the sower.
and in verse 22 God describes to us what happens with the seed in some of our lives.

the whole parable tells us how the seed can remain and be blessed, but also, the seed can be destroyed and choked out.

and i think the one that happens the most in most of peoples lives, is the same thing that God said was going wrong in me, there are things like weeds and stuff that chokes and kills the seed.

too many video games, too much tv, too much time on the enternet, too much time at work, and inevitably too little time alone with God and in the word... and these things begin to take hold and kill the God in your life, it chokes out your relationship with him... like a living plant taking hold and strangling you, these weeds, they grow up and choke other plants.

like if you ever planted a garden, you know how you have to watch the weeds becuase they can literally choke and kill the life from your vegetables.

i kinda want to be like the young man who came to Jesus and was told to go and sell all that he had and follow God.

not literally, but in a picture kinda way, get rid of all the STUFF, the video games and countless hours on the enternet and countless hours doing other worthless things, and just go follow God and be alone with him, pouring into my life and future and security and wellbeing.

we have to be careful how much we give to THINGS, becuase we can begin to raise the creation up higher than the creator, and these THINGS can kill the seed and the anointing, these THINGS can take so much of our time energy and focus that they literally strangle your relationship with God, your ability to hear from him, your ability to be lead by him, your ability to walk in the power of God, your faith, your integrity, your goodness, it can strangle the life out of you....
having to much STUFF in your life.

whats killing your seed? whats in your life thats hostile to the seed hes imparted into you? what are you doing or where are you going, that is hostile to what God is trying to do in your life? what kills your ability to be holy? what gives sin a foothold in your life.
i believe and pray as you read this God will move in your heart and bring things to your attention and speak to you about things in your life, as he has me.

well Godbless,
we need to pull up some weeds, well i know i do.

so i wont be here as much anymore.
but Godbless you all,
Lee.

I can relate. It's so easy to be distracted by things, even other Christians. Our love for God is to be nurtured because I believe that our natural selves does not love God but has an enmity towards Him. It is our spirit that loves Him, responds to Him, and seeks Him. Our flesh and our spirit is at war constantly. Maybe remembering this can help us as we make our day to day decisions on how we will spend our time.

Godspeed Lee, as you journey on.

Ever see a packet of seeds? Like the ones with all the flowers on the front? A lot of times our christian experience is like that packet of seeds.

We have the picture of what GOD wants (or what we think GOD wants). We are full of the Word, have insights, know great and wonderful things about the kingdom of GOD. But until we open our hearts and pour ourselves out before GOD and the world we will never grow.

An illustration I like to use is that of a chicken egg. The embryo grows and grows until it fills the shell. But if it never leaves the shell it will stop growing. Eventually it will die. The baby chick has to break out of its shell to live. We as christians have to come to a place where we break out of our self shells.

But, I've done that, and yet.....

Among the things listed that will choke out the word is the lust of other things. Sometimes other things include religious and spiritual things.

Think how simply Jesus lived. It would seem His biggest problems and pressures was keeping it simple. There were so many demands, requests and expectations placed upon Him. And yet thru-out the gospels we find Jesus slipping away or rising early in the morning to be alone with His Father. Time with His Father was not a distraction from His ministry. His ministry was the result of spending time with His Father.

There is no glory in a seed that is planted. It goes into the ground and disappears. When it eventually reappears it is different from what went into the ground.

There is no glory in dying to self. Our personal calvary is a lonely, painful process. But if we do not draw back from or turn away from this personal death we eventually will become a tree planted by the rivers of life instead of chaff that is easily blown away.

As long as the seed remains in the packet there will be no life. It is only when the packet is ripped open and the seed is planted that life begins.

.....peace.....

Sometimes when you act like a nut
You fall to the ground bruised and cut

Never understanding it silently cries
Wounded and broken the acorn dies

Unnoticed the acorn is trampled down
Into the cold unsympathetic ground

Something wondrous begins to take place
Small roots spring out reaching for grace

Unseen hands caress and embrace
Invisible healing is taking place

The water of life is its nourishment
In this dark world of banishment

Quietly the nut is being transformed
As potter's clay it is being re-formed

A tender seedling finally breaks thru
Into a world that is bright and new

As more of GOD's will and heart it knows
The seedling gets stronger as it grows

From the acorn came an oak tree
what a story to tell
Who would have expected this
from some nut who fell

.....peace.....

amen... thats so true.

i like how one man once said, the wealthiest place on the planet is not in any bank, or in any persons capital or in any business.... its in the grave yard.
becuase there, you have millions of songs never sung, books never written, plays never ochestrated, businesses never built, money never earned...

people took their dreams and gifts and callings and seeds... and took them to grave with them.
i believe we all have something, and a responsibility to make the world a better place, but like you said many people never open themselves up and allow their own seeds to be planted...

and many times we allow the precious seed, the precious seed.... that God sowed into our lives to be destroyed.... we arent good stewards of the greatness he sows into our lives.... so sin and bondadge and degredation and shame rules freely. becuase the seed doesnt remain.

well Godbless you,
Lee.

I am very conflicted about the time I spend using the internet. I often feel the pull away from these things, and wonder if it is the Holy Spirit pointing me away from the computer to time spent alone with God. On the other hand, I have felt that cf is under prayer and has so much potential to be a place of encouragement to other christians (if you avoid the countless threads of arguing!) The answer is to heed the call to be alone with God at times, and sometimes come back and let your light shine on cf. God bless all you little lights!

Wow I think this was a wonderful thread to start because this has helped me in so many areas that I have been struggling in. I am trying to find my calling, but Im not getting anywhere. I find that my life is not being fufilled because I dont knwo what God wants of me. I think right now he wants me to be patient and wait for his answer. Sometimes it gets so frustrated, but I do want to come out so that I can grow in christ. Well thanks alot hope to hear from you all some more.
God Bless

the thing is though, the holyspirit is what changes lives, not this site or people or anything else, and i know this site is a good thing, but its the holyspirit.
and if God doesnt want you on the enternet surfing this site.... then its really alot like eating the crumbs that fall from the table.
if God wants you to come pray, but your on this site and wont, then hell allow it and you might even get some good stuff from it, but it wont be what you would have gotten if you had listened to him.

hell lead you, hell be ok with you being here, but when he wants you in prayer, thats where you need to be, or else your only getting rations compared to what he wants to give you.

the begginning of knowledge is the fear of God, respect of God.

surrender your life to him, and believe me he wont leave you hanging or mess things up for you.
