Here's the answer to your question:

2 Peter 3:9
The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

If he wants nobody to perish then why not do it now, it will end all the nonsense. Since the "bad guys" are winning, and so on and so on. Why all the waiting, it's about time already anyway. Why wait longer, so we can suffer some more? I'll ask forgiveness when or if he comes, and if hell is true.

Friend,

Jesus has already come into the world to save it. When the Lord comes again it will be to bring judgement on the world.

Here and now is the time to ask for forgiveness. If he comes and you have not already repented for your sins and believed in God and his only son Jesus, it will be too late and you will be condemned to Hell.

Only the Father can say when the time is right for Jesus to return.

I have no idea what you mean about "bad guys."

As I understand it God's plan is for there to be two historical eras: our current era (which is pretty horrible) and a future era where Jesus will rule. The second era (after Jesus comes back) will be almost perfect with hardly any suffering. So what's the deal? Why not just create the second era, why have our era?

I think the answer is that some people need a world like our world in order to come back to God and accept the gift of eternal life. Like in the parable of the prodigal son.

Seriously, why isn't it the end yet? Whats he waiting for, people are just suffering here an there, lets do this thing already. Is he mocking us or something, what gives? End of the world, why doesn't he do this thing already?

Tell me if thats too vulgar, I will change it if it's so.
MY BROTHER,

Scripture states:

First of all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. They will say, 'Where is this "coming" He promised. Ever since our fathers died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation.' But they deliberately forget that long ago by God's word the heavens existed and the earth was formed out of the water and by water. By these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed. By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men.

"But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance."
(II Peter 3:3-9

In other words, He is waiting for you to stop messing around, to get off the fence, and to commit yourself to Him.

Stop wasting time and GET ON WITH IT!

ephraim

MY DEAR PROCRASTINATING FRIEND,

Scripture states:

"I tell you, NOW is the time of God's favor, NOW is the day of salvation." (II Corinthians 6:2b)

THEN, changing your mind/making your choice won't be an option.

:bow:ABBA'S FOOL,
ephraim

Perish doesn't mean death to this life, it means eternal death in the next one. God doesn't end this world because of all who will eventually convert. When that number is exceeded by man's iniquity then make no mistake the end will come swiftly.

So Jesus failed horribly the first time that means God failed too right? Why does he have to wait, i mean less and less people care about him. The longer he waits the more people will get screwed over in the end. If he is all powerful and good, he should come now, and jesus can come and make everything ok for a thousand years right? I don't see the point really...evolution hasnt got a plan, seems like your God dosnt have one either, or a really messed up one.

I have no idea where your reasoning is coming from. I think your just messing around.

Jesus did not fail the first time; his task was to die for the sins of all mankind. He did that. Now you have a chance to repent, for those sins and have them forgiven. You may get killed in a car crash tomorrow; you never know what day will be your last that is also why you cannot afford to wait around.

1 Corinthians 1:18
For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

Jesus didn't fail. I think that God waits until people are willing to turn to Him and ask for help and salvation.
Some people are too proud to admit they need help, even from God. (I'm not implying that you are..but some people think they can do it all alone..they often won't even accept help from other people, let alone God).

I certainly don't know the reasons why Jesus doesn't return now ths minute..I wish that He would...but at the same time, I assume that conditions have to be right for that - I'm certain God knows what He's doing, even though it can often appear that He doesn't.

Perhaps you should ask Him yourself why He doesn't yet come back (or maybe you already have). However , He doesn't always answer in the way you might expect. Keep seeking Him and His Truth, and I'm sure He will meet with you in one way or another :)

Why did jesus have to die for our sins? God could have just given him some powers and everyone would have heard and seen. What about all the innocent people that died without knowing this god? What the hek is the whole purpose of this plan, it seems so pointless and doesnt make sense at all.

I'll just briefly answer part of this question. I'm sure others can respond much better and more fully than I.
I'm not sure that there actually ARE any innocent people, for a start. People usually start pretty early in life to do wrong things (knowingly). Also, so far as I am aware, evrone has what seem to be innate problems..that is, people in varying degrees tend toward pride, arrogance, selfishness, envy, hate, unforgiveness etc etc. It seems to me that only by giving your lfe to God through Jesus, can those things be thorougly dealt with (although not all at once usually..no-one is perfect whilst still in this life)
I also think that whilst we're on earth and getting more and more to know God, and maintaining a relationshp wth Hm, then we gradually learn more and can make better choices and decisions. We become more like God in character.
There's loads and loads more that can be said, but my grandkids have just come back, so I'll have to leave it at that for the moment

Every man woman and child have sinned.

Romans 3:23
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God

Yes, there are babies who die at childbirth but that is an exception because they are innocent and have not yet sinned.

Because everyone has sinned, we all deserve punishment for sinning. It is not right for God to let people into Heaven who have sinned is it? Just like it is not right for a Judge to let all the criminals into society. There must be punishment.

1 Corinthians 6:9-10
Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.

Revelation 21:8
But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars—their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.”

There is two deaths, the first is when you die, the second comes after you are condemned - it is Hell.

Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death [second death - Hell], but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Basically, we are all condemned men. But God set apart his son who has never sinned and he died on the cross on our behalf, he took what should have been our punishment.

Because this has been done, we can now have all our sins wiped clean.

All one must do is believe in Jesus and what he's done and repent for your sins.

Acts 3:19
Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord,

P.S. Thousands herd and seen the powers Jesus had when he walked on this earth but even that was not enough to make all the people believe in him. In fact they ended up crucifying him.

Because it is not His will for it to be the end yet. People think things are so bad now. Yes, they are in some areas and in some ways. But in days of past other atrocities were committed and things were just as bad for people then as they are now, sometimes in different ways. I personally think the world will get a lot worse, and we will have less Christians, when the end times come.

I'm not sure what you mean by saying 'the bad guys are winning'

I'm not sure where your reasoning is coming from (echoing fm107, but the same thought came to my mind), but our Lord did not error and Christ did not make any mistakes. God has a plan, you are just not understanding it yet. Prayer and scripture can help with understanding.

Why did jesus have to die for our sins? God could have just given him some powers and everyone would have heard and seen. What about all the innocent people that died without knowing this god? What the hek is the whole purpose of this plan, it seems so pointless and doesnt make sense at all.

Because we are not puppets, and God does not choose to wave a magic wand to where we all will obey him like mindless robots with the sin gone. We are to choose, and Jesus is the way for those who choose to follow Him, to follow life and salvation. I am not sure what you mean by innocent people who died without knowing God, could you clarify? If you mean children who are too young to understand, I believe in the age of accountability.

God's plans and ways do not always make perfect sense to us, but we trust that His will is for the good of us.

Because the world is not yet ready. What exactly are the necessary conditions are not something we are party to, but God will act when the time is right.

In the meantime it is perfectly appropriate to pray for him to act and act quickly.

So Jesus failed horribly the first time that means God failed too right?
No, the victory has been one. But putting right a messed up people in a messed up world is a long, slow, messy process with many set-backs.

Why does he have to wait, i mean less and less people care about him.
That's a western perception - worldwide Christianity is growing.

when the end does come, it will be a very frightening time.
but we are told not to be scared, as after the tribulation the king of kings, the lord of lords will return to earth.

and every knee shall bow, and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is LORD.

if you're waiting for his return as 'proof' that he's real.
let me tell you you've been deceived

it states explicitly in the bible that when the time comes, 'their hearts would be hardened' . that they would not hear.

It's a fundamental mistake to assume that we have to figure out everything that can be asked about God and his doings. If there is a God, we are not of his intellectual level. Almost everyone knows that, but yet there is the human yearning to reason out or otherwise explain any question that we can think of.

We need to stop doing that, for out own sakes, if nothing else. And from the Bible's perspective, we are told repeatedly that God knows what he is doing and that we are not given in this life to understand all of it, just that which is essential for us to have revealed here and now.
